I'd say they're real and at one point a chicken gets it's head ripped off. Maybe that's why it's a website exclusive.

I wish Shout/Scream would do more double features with these exclusives if they're going to price them at $27. Like the Corman biker movies and Brain Eaters/The Day the World Ended would have been fine to bundle together, I think.

Didn't Corman re-release this with an alternate title? That woulda been a nice extra.

Hellman mentions on the Anchor Bay DVD commentary that Corman inserted some shots in the final cockfight without his permission to spice up the bloodletting.

There's a Chucky documentary that has been in the works for a while. Most folks seem to believe that the stuff she recorded was for that and not a new release of any of the films.

Good news. I wasn't aware of a documentary being made. I'd hope that Don Mancini's behind the scenes footage from Part 2 and 3 are featured in it.

One week later and I decided to give Scream Factory tv another spin today as some background noise while I work. Upon loading up the service through the Shout Factory TV app on my Roku Ultra, I was greeted to 15 consecutive ads before the service began. Of the 15 ads, the first 12 were the exact same ad played on repeat over and over. Thankfully it was a short 10 second ad, but it had nothing to do with anything related to Scream Factory, movies, or my general interests. The final 3 ads also repeated over and over and were an ad for Kansas Speedway motorsports.
Once all of this ended however I was immediately plopped down into the in progress movie which happened to be Nightbreed. The quality looked great and things ran without problem for about 10 minutes or so until the film was interrupted for another series of commercials. These ad's however were all focused on other Scream Factory products which made them less annoying and were over fairly quickly. When the movie returned they also had a nice little "you're watching Nightbreed" text and movie poster pop up near the bottom of the screen for a few moments for folks that needed a reminder what was on. Commercials seemed to pop up about ever 15 minutes or so on average. I wasn't actively keeping track as I was working but generally speaking that seemed to be about how often they caught my attention. In between films they ran the usual SFTV bumpers and then a handful of movie trailers for other Scream Factory films. Eight Legged Freaks for whatever reason seems to get a lot of air time. Without warning the next film began suddenly following one such trailer which happened to be Carnival of Souls. I thought I was watching a trailer for the film until the opening credits began to roll as I have never seen the film before and wasn't sure what I was watching initially. I'm happy to say that there were no problems with buffering, pixilation, sound problems or anything to report and that advertising wise things are in a much better place than they were at this time last week when I tried to run the service. The inclusion of titles not otherwise offered on disc from Scream/Shout Factory is also a fun/interesting surprise as it will help keep the lineup fresh and the service worth checking into. |
