Well, we know someone has A SIMPLE PLAN in the US for sure. If Shout has it, the only reason I'm thinking they haven't released it is that they are waiting for a 4K scan to be done. Either way, Comic Con is only a few weeks away, so if they do have it, I'm hoping it's announced there.

Excited for The Fog and Army of Darkness, I do love me Evil Dead awesomeness. Not entirely sure I'm on board with the Steel art, then again I've not been a fan of SF newly commissioned art in years.

Definitely with you. Though, like you, I'm wondering which label has it. I don't think it's Shout. They announced their deal with Paramount at the 2019 Comic Con. So I'm doubting that there's much left for Shout to release. But if they actually do have it, to me it would be quite ironic if they announce it at CC 2022.

But I'm really thinking Kino has it. They've already announced some big (IMO) Paramount titles. We don't know if it's going to be a 4K restoration or even a 4K UHD, but either way, Kino is on a roll with their Paramount announcements.

There's also a longshot chance that Paramount themselves could release it. But after Kino announced Escape from Alcatraz on UHD, probably not.

There is German blu-ray release from 2012, which has been reported by at least two German Amazon.de buyers as having a lot of print damage, so definitely it will need much restoration by whoever has it, which may be delaying it's release in the US.

I feel the same way. I like collecting Scream/Shout Factory so that means usually keep the older blurays when a steelbook or 4K upgrade comes out. I don't usually like to have so many duplicates in the collection, but as a collector sometimes holding onto those older releases is cathartic. Especially if I have the slip.

I've got two or three rather large boxes of standard studio release blurays and DVDs I'm going to either give away/trade/or sell. Most likely I'll sell it bulk to a local record shop that does movies. The proceeds then will usually go to picking up OOP Scream Factory titles I missed out on. So it makes the purchase more digestible

They both look pretty nice, but you really can't beat those classic posters!

Thats something of a gamble, no formal 4k announcements for any of those titles. I don't sell the blu till official confirmations. It could be 3-5+ years on some of those if they even ever get a 4k, what if you want to watch 1 in the interim, you won't have it.

The art on THE FOG steelbook is great but, yeah, nothing beats the OG poster. Glad Shout is now doing OG art for the slips but have they abandoned the hardboxes?

for the life of me I can never figure a way to post a picture from my cell phone to this forum but for me I have a big wall of shelves for titles and then stands on top of the shelves.

The shelves can have movies front faced but also room for a back row that's unseen. That works perfect for me as I put all my duplicates in that back row.

I can see Carrie and Creepshow getting 4K releases, but none of the others, and not necessarily from their current rights holders, which would mean not for some time.

Scream is actually on their second deal with Paramount which they started releasing some titles on December 2021. I'm guessing they still have more Paramount titles as well as Dimension titles which the Halloween films will be from as well as Cursed as part of their second deal.

As for A Simple Plan, I just hope someone announces it soon. This one is long overdue.

September is stellar for releases for Scream. Was definitely never expecting a 4K release of the Evil Dead remake, totally onboard for that. AoD we knew, still great. And the Fog was on my to watch list, so I'm on for that.

With that great of a month, I really wonder what October has in store. I hope if Halloween 6 and H20 are coming they are the first week or 2 of October to get them in time for Halloween! Hoping for a Day of the Dead and Creepshow upgrade too

Wow, I did not know that! Great information. It gives more hope for A Simple Plan and many other Paramount titles for blu-ray, maybe even some for 4K UHD releases.

So we're 2 and a half weeks away from SDCC, and as far as I'm aware Shout Factory haven't officially confirmed they'll be there (and being there is one thing, but having a panel is another). In the past, do we know how long they left it before they confirmed their plans? You'd expect to hear something this week surely.

Someone posted here a few weeks ago that they talked to Shout and they said that they will be at SDCC and that their presence there will be exactly as before or something like that. If someone can find that post, it provided more details. Either way, I hope that's true and we get some title reveals.

I did see that, but an official announcement would be a little more reassuring, especially the closer we get.

EDIT: Apparently the full schedule isn't traditionally revealed until 2 weeks beforehand, so I guess we'll know either way in a few days.

SDCC still hasn't posted their panel line ups yet, and it should be revealed anytime, but they usually do it a week or so before the event. It won't be too long to wait to see their schedule and what it says about Shout.

I'm in for The Fog 4K. I still have the old MGM DVD.

As for Army, I'll keep the Blu especially since it's autographed by some actors and FX artists. I wish SF would mix in some new titles with these 4K upgrades.

I got the They Live and Prince of Darkness UHDs when they where released, but have to say I wasn't into the color timing. Perhaps that's how the movies where intended to look, but something just seemed off to me. Maybe I'll have to give them another spin and see if I am crazy. The Fog is one of my all time favorites, but still unsure about the upgrade...
