Very happy with Company of Wolves announcement. I have the UK region B ITV blu-ray, which leaves a lot to be desired. This will have to be a huge improvement.

I really hope Shout can include the extended promotional trailer that was included on the Hen's Tooth DVD and not the ITV blu-ray. It has footage not seen in the final film, including more of Danielle Dax's Wolf Girl.

As an aside, I used the 20% off coupon to order Cat People, Cool World, and The Fog steelbook. The first two I considered no brainers, as Cat's blu is not good and Cool is DVD only. I waffled a bit on Fog, as it isn't in my top 5 Carpenter, but then I decided who am I kidding, I eventually will upgrade all Carpenter to 4K.

Speaking of the coupon, thanks to all who posted about it. It's very odd, but even though my account preferences are set to get emails from Shout, and I have signed up numerous times via contests, the only email I ever get are requests to review purchases. I haven't gotten a promotional one of any kind since pre-pandemic when I got one for a free shopping bag.

Sweet. Just placed my order for Chiba/Wolves/Piranha with the code. Compared to Bullmoose I saved $7 on Chiba, $3 on Wolves, and just a few mere cents on Piranha but I'm getting posters for everything (not that I really wanted them, but I can always offload them later).

Specs for Piranha seem to already be finalized, I was hoping there would be new extras since they're labeling it as a CE now. At least the slip will look nice.

Hopefully the Chiba set will sell well enough to justify doing future volumes.

I was only going to get The Company of Wolves and Piranha on 4K, but since I needed to reach $80 to use the discount code, I also added Rollerball on 4K, Meatcleaver Massacre (I saw SF post on Facebook the other day that it’s almost sold out), Space Truckers, and the Stripped to Kill/Final Judgement double feature.

I love the movie, but I also love Angela Carter's fiction. The movie is a very faithful (in spirit) adaptation of some of her stories. They aren't straight horror tales, so to speak, but fairy tales re-imagined with a vision of female sexuality (particularly sexual awakening) in all of its complexity. Neil Jordan's movie adapts this from Carter's fiction beautifully, with Carter herself (she wrote the screenplay).

I decided against Chiba set, but may still go back for that one, since I did get a slip with my Street Fighter set (that I've yet to touch).

Watching the old Hen's Tooth DVD recently, with its non-anamorphic Widescreen picture, made me wish all the harder for a proper HD release.

If I remember correctly you really liked The Beast and the Magic Sword right? If so, I think you would love Samurai Reincarnation as it's very similar, but even more nuts. Plenty of violence and nudity and some awesome duels.

Plus, a lot of the other films in the set are pure 70's bad ass cinema.
