What are the chances that (especially the Fox titles) even though they still have a few hundred plus quantity in stock after the sale, after a certain date, say January 1 2024, they will just disappear from the site because the license has expired and they are no longer allowed to sell them? Also, if this happens I would assume other retailers will no longer be allowed to sell their stock of these titles.

So what I'm trying to say, it may not be a good idea to wait on these titles even though they still have many in stock. Would this be an accurate statement? What say you?

And by the way... which ones in the Going OOP Flash Sale are Fox titles?

Really all very TBD. Since Disney have partnered with Mill Creek for releasing some smaller titles, and Criterion for Wall-E, I’d honestly say it’s possible they allow allot of boutique label Fox releases to continue. I for one am optimistically hoping that ends up being the case, Fox has allot of horror titles that really could use 4K remasters, and unless they are more mainstream like Aliens I just can’t see them touching them. The Fly is Cronenberg and I can’t see them touching that even to be honest.

Yeah, my first thought was that it was accidently left out, since the audio options are also missing, and SF usually posts both of those things when adding the list of extras.

The Omen Collection

I think the rest that were recently added were StudioCanal licenses. IIRC, some of those (the StudioCanal titles, not the Fox titles) might be apart of a new deal with KLSC.

If they were to disappear from the Shout website, this wouldn't affect other retailers. Overstock would most likely go to other retailers. Case and point the way the OOP Shout blu-ray of Mad Max, Roadhouse, Escape from New York, or Carrie can still be found (or could for awhile after they were OOP) online shipped and sold by Amazon or Walmart.

It seems their priority these days is in re-releasing their licensed content on 4k for films they've already previously released on blu. If I don't already own it, I'll consider purchasing it once their prices become reasonable ($34.99+ for a single film is not unless it's a top ten film I want to own), but if I've already purchased the blu from them for a film (in already spending entirely too much money, especially for some of the rarer OOP stuff I really wanted and had to acquire it from scalpers on the market) there's no way I'm ever going to double dip for a slightly improved picture and sound quality to re-spend another $30+ when I already spent $25+ to own it in the first place on blu. Then they want to throw in some cheap pins/stickers and have me spend another $30 on top of that? Absolutely not. Just give me the film.

Sorry, SF, but you aren't going to double dip from my wallet, especially in overcharging for the double dip on top of that. While I greatly appreciate what you've provided to me for my collection in the past, it seems there is less and less you are releasing that has any interest to me as most of what you are releasing now are just re-releases from blu to 4k. No thanks.

Vinegar Syndrome and Terror Vision have become my two favorite boutique labels. And, while I'll always love my SF collection, and will no doubt add some to it on increasingly rarer occasions, I am saddened at what has become of my once most favorite label.
I think part of the problem is a lack of big titles left to release. Looking back at Scream Factory's catalogue it's pretty impressive the amount of high profile titles they've released; Halloween franchise, F13 franchise, multiple titles from Wes Craven, John Carpenter, Tobe Hooper, etc.. How many titles of that caliber are left out there?

Also where once they were the top dog they now have serious competition from Vinegar Syndrome and Arrow Video for those top tier titles. Even MVD and Severin are getting their hands on a big title here and there. Of course there's plenty of mid tier and barely known titles left out there to release but I'm sure a lot of them are too "small" for a label the size of SF. Plus again there's competition from Synapse, Blue Underground, Terror Vision, and dozens more. I think this is just the reality of where Scream Factory is as a company and like you said it's time for many collectors to start going elsewhere.

Another missed opportunity to include the television series pilot, but I guess there are legal reasons preventing that as with many unproduced TV pilots.

But the new transfer and deleted scenes make this a good double-dip.

I didn’t even know there was TV Show Pilot until I watched RedLetterMedia’s re:View on Darkman.

Might be tempted into getting this release of Darkman (eventually). Have seen bits of it from television screenings (earliest memory of it was when I think Barry Norman reviewed it on his film review series on the BBC).

Currently watching the Shout Brothers vol 4 set, always great to have more martial arts films on blu. Shout martial arts releases do have a major subtitling issue though in that they subtitles signs, flags, symbols, badges etc multiple multiple times. Every time they go back to the shot they re-subtitle it once again. It’s extremely distracting especially during heavy action sequences. I don’t need to know during a big action scene that the warehouse 500 ft in the background is a “rice warehouse” or that the symbol on the wall stands for “blue”. Someone’s flying thru the air and they have to re-subtitle the name of the restaurant once again. Knock it off Shout!

Is there any likelihood of Scream Factory releasing P2 on BD? It only got a DVD release in North America.

Shout! If you are listening, can you cut us a break and just do a 50% off sale site-wide a couple of times a year like everyone else? I’ve got 25 titles on my wishlist some of them I’ve been watching for years, and they never get to a reasonable price. I’m literally not going to ever give you $20-$25 for a Blu and $24-$30 for a 4K ever. Ok, maybe 1 or 2 I’ll pay up for eventually, but I would hand you $200 a couple of times per year if you would price your stuff right. Thanks

Look, I’m not asking for Kino prices, but how about $13-$16 for blues and $17-$20 for 4K

You know, stuff like Cool World, Ghost and the Darkness, Into The Night, quite a few of the 4k’s. I know, I know sometimes they go on sale individually, but it’s always a task to find enough for free shipping. Let’s go site-wide!

Been watching Into the Night and Ghost and the Darkness for years. Never seen them under $18. I’m just not gonna do it. Those are $12-$14 titles, I mean come on.

Into the Night is currently $17.09 on Deepdiscount using the 15% discount code. You do need to spend a bit more to get free shipping.

There's a used copy of Into the Night on Ebay for $16.35 with free shipping.

This took me less than a minute to find.
