Omg if they actually found the OCN for Sleepaway Camp I will literally wet myself. Their BD was a massive upgrade over the Anchor Bay DVD but a decade on it's really starting to show its age. Could definitely use a new scan with a fresh encode.

Hope they also fix that one shot where Angela is standing in the doorway of the cabin - it's supposed to be really dark so that you only see their outline, but the SF blu-ray has the scene brightened so much that you can see it's clearly another actor and it ruins the effectiveness of the scene. Also makes it a little confusing.

But yeah I hope that's on the horizon. SNDN and 10 to Midnight already have 4K scans done, would love it if they upgraded those to UHD. Class of 1984 also needs a new scan, would pick that up in a heartbeat if they put out a UHD.

Poltergeist II/III are definite possibilities as well.

Someone emailed SF asking about a UHD and the response they got was something along the lines of "if you know where the OCN is, let us know!"

Apparently they wanna do a UHD and are either not being given access to the OCN by the rightsholders or it was misplaced. I hope it's the former, as an OCN getting lost in this day and age is pretty unbelievable.

If they are planning to announce it based on that error of listing the BD as the 4K, maybe they did in fact locate the OCN.

Just received my most recent haul from their last sale and three of my eight purchases had scratches on them. I used to not open them immediately after getting them in but with all the complaints of scratched discs made me wary. Some of the blu ray discs had scratches/smudges but I’m not that concerned with those. The three I’m most concerned with are all three disc editions: Species, My Bloody Valentine and Black Christmas. In all three cases the disc holder tray had come out of the holder and was loose inside the case and of course as my luck would have it it was the 4K disc that was floating. The Black Christmas copy had come with a slipcase but the slipcase was shrink wrapped but the case inside was not. It looks as if they sent me a return copy and the 4K disc had some scratching and smudges. Call me crazy, but I like to view that movie during Christmas so I wasn’t planning on watching anytime to soon to see if it plays ok. Suggestions on what I should do?

Request replacements. If they refuse, leave a one star Trust Pilot review.

Just received all my 3 orders from shout sale, surprised that Halloween 1-3 still comes in that hard-box. Anyone knows if Halloween 4 also comes in hard-box?

I ordered 10 discs between 2 orders and none had scratches.

if you test the disc and it doesnt play, they will happily provide a replacement. but you smooth brains dont even want to test the discs.

Hell even if the disc is spotless, there's still a chance it'll shutdown.

my bride of Chucky disc was completely scratch free and yet it had more buffering issues than my scratched 4K disc of Candyman which was also from scream factory.

scratches are a problem but let’s not forget the fact that 4K discs as a whole are so sensitive that the smallest things can cause problems.

Just received my order from the 12th of five 4k's and can report that mine are scratch free but YMMV.

Halloween 1-5 all come with the hardbox if you order direct from Scream Factory.
