I do t see why not. There is still new merchandise coming out for it. There was a Bluetooth speaker of the truck just released at Walmart.

The Jeepers Creepers license ran out a while back. Shout would have to re-license the films in order to release them on 4k.

Also, correct me if I am wrong, but didn't the MGM library change hands in the last few years? At this point I'm not even sure if the new owners (Amazon) are licensing out films.

People harassed Shout pretty badly for releasing the Jeepers Creepers films, and I believe they even publicly said they had no interest in re-releasing them or going near any of Salva's films in the future.

it most certainly did, but if they aren’t relicensing, how did shout get some of their titles again to release recently or release? just a genuine question, i don’t have a clue how all of this works

honestly what i was curious about, i know those movies are high in demand, just didn’t know if shout would touch them again at this point

I was actually about to say that I thought it deserved a “Collector’s Edition”. Silly me, I thought it was more well known:

The Jeepers Creepers films are part of the MGM library. When Shout Factory released the original Collectors Editions they were a part of a package deal for multiple films which eventually saw release. WHen said licene runs out, Shout has the option on re-licensing titles which they fill will sell well, while allowing others to go out of print. In the case of the Jeepers Creepers films they felt that they were done with them and allowed the licenses to lapse.

Since that all occurred, the MGM library changed hands as Amazon purchased all of the post 1986 films. This means that new deals would have to be struck in order to release the films again, particularly on 4k. I'm unaware if Amazon are licensing films or not but Shout Factory may have pre-existing deals in place for other titles allowing them to keep them in print and/or release 4k editions as they desire.

Given the "controversy" with the Jeepers Creepers films and the fact that the license has run its course, I wouldn't be surprised to see another studio (Vinegar Syndrome) potentially take a crack at them one day if the licenses are up for grabs, but that's the big "IF" that only insiders could answer.... (Can the films even be licensed?).

Worth noting is that there was a 3rd film released a few years back and a remake as well. If Shout Factory or Vinegar Syndrome were to happen to license the films again, I'd assume/hope that it would be for the full franchise as part of a 4k boxset, but that may just be wishful thinking on my part.

For now, I personally am content with the blu rays' available and would prefer something not on HD be released (like clownhouse for instance) but that's a personal preference. Clownhouse specficially likely will never see a disc release in the US... Our best bet for that film is likely going to be in a part of the world that is a bit more loose with copyright laws.

i understand, clownhouse blu ray or 4k would be amazing. how ever, i feel there’s very little likelihood we will ever receive it.

i’m surprised shout never got the 3rd one, not so much on the remake.

hopefully amazon is willing to license them out, i feel like they may due to the business aspect but who knows

Poltergeist II appears to be a hit since a lot of places are sold out. Now let’s get Part III

Announcements are likely today since next weekend is Labor Day. Hoping the 4K remake cycle is nearing an end.

I wonder if November is when we’ll finally get ‘The faculty’ 4k. I still don’t know why it got delayed in April.

MifuneFanspeak for 'I haven't found the leaks yet'

Maybe my memory really is faulty but I could swear most Shout announcements were on a Monday. They could very well announce on Friday. Long weekends tend to throw things off.
