The Dark Half is also an MGM title that's not in widescreen.

But if it is Lionsgate, I'd like to see a new edition of Dead Alive and a DVD version of Evil Dead 2 25th AE (just to make some DVD collectors happy). And this would also mean that Shout! would have access to the Miramax titles Lionsgate owns.

Check in with us tomorrow where we'll actually announce TWO titles that are a part of our new deal.

The only hints we'll give: Both are from the 80s. One has been released before (but not before in widescreen) and the other has never been out on DVD before.

I can't think of a great MGM title that never received a Widescreen transfer either. And none of them are The Fog or The Howling which is disappointing, or Town That Dreaded Sundown for that matter since it was released in 1977. Lionsgate has a lot of great titles but I would much prefer it to be MGM as they have much more unreleased to Blu titles.

MGM

Rawhead Rex - No Widescreen release
The Video Dead - Never been released

Lions Gate

Copping Mall - No Widescreen release
Fright Night 2 - No Widescreen release
? - Never been released

Paramount (Doubt it but what the hell)

? - No Widescreen release
The Keep - Never been released

Hopefully I just can't think of anything right now or else these titles might not be as exciting as I hoped.

EDIT: Didn't realize that both titles are from the 80s. Updated thoughts/ predictions.

I have this on a dvd boxed set--- it's under a 'sci-fi collection" from Universal along with several other titles....

I would love it to be The Changeling!

...but I doubt HBO has many other great horror title to make this deal as exciting as it sounds like it will be. That and it has a widescreen DVD release so it doesn't fit either of their criteria.

Think about it. Cmac, probably did one huge deal with MGM and a bunch of smaller deals with other companies. Scream Factory is going all out.

Hes mentioned numerous times that he tried to get In the Mouth of Madness from Warner, he tried getting friday the 13th from Paramount. So, it seems to me to he s been working hard to pick up the rights to all the great horror flicks yet to be released on blu ray.

Again though, doesn't fit either criteria, never been released on DVD and never received a widescreen release. Changeling has been released on DVD and with a widescreen release.

In Cmac we trust! If there's anybody that can land the big franchise titles away from the majors it's Cliff and Scream Factory. Keep up the good work man!

Scream Factory is the main reason why I need to get a multiregion player... I can hardly resist buying the releases, even though I couldn't watch them right now... they look fantastic.

Hey cmac!

Sorry to pester with yet another request/question, I know you get inundated. Ever give thought to the "Cold Prey" trilogy (Fritt Vilt)? I know the first one got a DVD release here, but that's it...not sure where the rights are with all of those, but they would be awesome (as would everything, and I will be buying everything you guys release!)

My guesses would have to be Fright Night 2, Monster Shark , To Die for ..
Only Monster Shark hasnt been released in the USA. The other 2 - Full Frame and 1980s.
Didnt Pioneer release Rawhead Rex widescreen a long time ago ? I forgot if it was widescreen but I know its been released before

Yeah, I wondered about these various websites that do DVD-Rs of OOP movies and put disclaimers on the disc "for collectors only." Authorized Bootlegs, et al.
