What the freak?!

Cliff said that the "big guys" at Shou! turned down "Ms. 45" when he presented it to them. He even was just a signature away from the deal being finalized! We have to change their mind somehow!

"Ms. 45" is a cult classic! What other movies has a deaf-and-mute woman that was raped going psycho on any man she sees?? Its like "I Spit on Your Grave" or "The Last House on the Left"
What were they thinking!!! A cult classic, I'd be on it in a flash.

be nice

I'd also buy a blu-ray of Ms. 45 day one! I wish we could change their minds.

I would never pass on a movie I wanted because it wasnt Blu Ray. If it cant be HD, then I am good with SD.
I dont see anyone else releasing Vargrant or the Evictors or even trying to. I only see MOD titles from some studios.
That being said Im so glad SF is releasing the Incredible Melting Man and will be a HUGE upgrade or the MOD...
I have to agree. While if a title is available on Blu-ray I will definitely purchase the blu-ray (except in extreme circumstances, such as forgoing the blu-ray of the original "Straw Dogs" in favor of the Criterion DVD due to special features), but it's not the end all for me. There are hundreds of titles that I would be happy to get on home video no matter the format. I even purchase MOD from time to time when it's the only available format (such as "The Legend of Billy Jean," "Band of the Hand" and the seasons of MTV's "Awkward").

I remember growing up (until I bought my first DVD player at 14) everything I watched at home was seen via VHS on my parents console 25" tv that had a problem with the color red. So I grew to watch films for story, plotting, character development, acting etc and not necessary how sharp the picture looks or is the grain looks as originally intended. I grew to appreciate such things, but they arn't necessary to enjoy a film. And if DVD is the only way to get certain niche/genre/cult films than I'm all for it. It isn't like we are discussing the absolute greatest films in history here.

So far I just have Halloween II, Halloween III & They Live. Super happy with these releases and the nice collection of extras, as well as the awesome new & old cover art. Hope to see many more releases from them on my shelves in the future!

Okay so this was posted on their Facebook page:

1)"The Amazon pre-order links for the Collector's Edition of PRISON and the TV-themed TERRORVISION/THE VIDEO DEAD double feature are officially up!

We'll be announcing the extras (of which there are plenty of) this weekend at the Indiana HorrorHound convention in person and then will share to all here next week including a link to purchase PRISON on ScreamFactoryDVD.com which will come with a very limited edition 18" x 24" poster of the new key art".

2) Someone asked if the announcements were going to continue after "the bif titles" are revealed and here's their answer:
"We haven't announced it yet but we will be taking a hiatus from our "Fear Friday" announcements after this weekend. It doesn't mean we don't have other stuff cooking...but we feel like we've announced enough at the moment".

Well the upcoming "big" Friday announcement(s) needs to be REALLY big if they're planning on taking a break. I was fully expecting them to keep announcing titles right through the end of the year and I've yet to see any truly mouth-watering titles being talked about. Nothing wrong with stopping for a while - but Friday has to be mind-blowing.

Well, they've announced 18 titles for 2013, with presumably at least 2 more at Horror Hound, so I'm not sure how many more they'd be releasing the entire year anyway - didn't they originally state that the slate would be roughly 2 per month? I do agree that the majority of announced titles, although all look like varying degrees of fun, are second-tier films. If they don't announce at least two out of the 'big three' of The Burning, The Fog, and The Howling at the convention, I will be among the disappointed.

I really think you guys should lower your expectation just in case...so you won't be disappointed. I'm really hoping for The Fog, The Burning or something like that.

I'm not so sure that "To All a Goodnight" is with MGM.

And "The Howling II" may not be a Most Likely contender.

The Phantom Of The Opera" is probably not likely, neither is most of you "fantasy" list...

And next week, our Friday announcement will be a super-sized one with
films several to share BUT...it will happen at night and not in the AM like we normally have been doing. Reason is that we will be announcing them first in front of a crowd at the HorrorHound weekend in Indianapolis after 9PM ET at our first Scream Factory panel. We'll then rush to get the titles up here soon thereafter so all can enjoy
I'll wait for Scream Factory's announcement

I'll do my best, I'm actually interviewing Cliff shortly after the panel for another cult movie forum so I'm sure Scream Factory's Facebook page will have the news up before I can post it.

As has been pointed out before, this would likely be a TT release if anything.

As a side note, the MGM disc recently went OOP.

So it might be coming along with the original, MGM ceasing manufacturing may mean they're preparing for Scream's release.

That's possible, but MGM has been discontinuing massive chunks of their entire DVD catalog anyway.

So the consensus is the Fog will be one, I think we should prepare for the worst and hope for the best so the letdown isnt so bad in case the Fog isnt one of the titles..
The Burning and The Howling seem to be also high up on the lists..
Without Warning would be a big one for a lot of us
Pumpkinhead - anyone else like to see that one in HD
Dolls ?
Cellar Dweller ?
The Rift ?
Bram Stokers To Die For ?
I cant think of much higher unless theyve gotten some Hammer titles
Fright Night II and Prince of Darkness have been shot down, but wouldnt it be cool if if was just to cover up until Friday ?
Id love the Kindred but thats under hostage.
Carrie would be great if they would give it a well deserved special edition ..
Squirm and Frogs are also with MGM but are they major ? Squirm is a little higher up on the chain to me than Frogs..

My top three wants are: The Fog, The Burning & Prince Of Darkness.

I'm down for The Howling and some others, but those three are my hopes.

I'd also love to see them strike a deal with Paramount so I could get Silver Bullet. That would be a dream come true.
