OOP DVDs don't mean anything. It just means the stock has been exhausted. MGM DVDs are very inexpensive - people probably grab them by the armfuls to give away as gifts, epecially if there's a sale.

I think they mean something. We're talking specifically about OOP horror dvds from MGM. The cheapest new copy of From Beyond is sitting at $28.97 (on Amazon). Others: The Burning ($18.90), Night of the Comet ($17.82). Dolls and Lifeforce aren't really commanding high prices yet--but these titles are almost certainly OOP and probably not going to get any cheaper (unless Shout releases their own versions).

The 3 dvds that I mentioned in the other post (The Fog, The Howling, Pumpkinhead) are not OOP, so that could mean that Shout hasn't acquired these highly anticipated titles. (Although I noticed on DVD Empire, The Fog is listed as 'discontinued'.)

Anyway, I'm just trying to stir things up a bit.

The Incredible Melting Man MOD isnt oop
It really probably doesnt matter, I see your point but whether or not its in print shouldnt deter whatever they are going to release.
A few pages ago a user posted IMDB ratings as a potential metric of popularity
Without Warning 1,055 which is really good for a title such as this. I see so many requests in various threads and a lot of disappointments that it hasnt been released - we can only hope it is one of the super six. I am still getting this hunch Squirm is one of them. Cant wait until tomorrow where we will all post pages and pages of comments about all that will be released...

And MGM has discontinued hundreds of catalog DVDs, from all genres and time periods.

While checking to see if any hints to the "Super Six" titles were up yet, I noticed that Scream Factory had a poll on their Facebook page for:

Favorite Linda Blair movie BESIDES The Exorcist and Exorcist II?
  1. Hell Night 124 votes.
  2. Savage Streets 112 votes
  3. Repossessed 28 votes
  4. Chained Heat 22 votes
  5. Roller Boogie 19 votes
  6. Night Patrol 11 votes
  7. Born Innocent 10 votes
  8. Witchery 8 votes
  9. Summer Of Fear aka Stranger In Our House 6 votes

Exorcist and Exorcist II are Warner titles, and Exorcist already has a solid Blu-Ray release, so I'm wondering if they managed to snag one of the other titles in the poll. Bring on Hell Night.

Roller Boogie is an MGM title.

I hadn't thought of Hell Night as a possibility since we're all so focused on MGM but it does make sense now. Cliff is a big fan of the movie and, if I'm not mistaken, the film shares a producer credit with Halloween II (Irwin Yablans) so there's always that connection. Bring on Hell Night!

I know Cliff has expressed a ton of interest in "Hell Night" and "Fade to Black" but for some reason was having trouble finding the rights holders for both of them. Maybe he had some luck and managed to get "Hell Night" after all. That would certainly be an unexpected announcement but a very welcome one!

Hell Night would be awesome and a nice surprise! Anchor Bay seems to be losing rights to a lot of their horror catalog so I wouldn't be surprised at all. Hopefully they lose Phantasm 1, 3 and 4!

Also, any reason Scream isn't going after Demons 1 and 2, Tenebre, Day of the Dead, ect.? Maybe foreign films (With the exception of Day) aren't their thing? If not, hopefully BU picks these up as they are all great films and could definitely use a NA Region A release!

We must be pretty much on the money with our guesses. I certainly can't see them announcing anything from out of leftfield.

Is it going to be released in stores, or just their site? It can get expensive ordering direct- especially the shipping...

I am sure it will be available through Amazon. Not sure what the pricing will look like but hopefully not too too bad.

If it will be available through Amazon it will more than likely be through third party sellers since Bill has already expressed how well the direct to consumer model is working for him and that he will continue the practice with the 2013 slate.

Very pumped! Heading out to Indianapolis at 2AM from New Jersey. It'll take about 12 hours to get there... yikes! My friend and I should be arriving around 2PM. The Scream Factory panel is at 9:30PM and shortly after that my interview with Cliff will take place. It's going to be one exciting weekend folks!
