I have a vague memory of discussing this before, but I'm sure this will be a BD double-feature. Town has a sizable cult following, so it's extremely likely to be a BD, and being as Evictors is far less-known, but a perfect pairing with Town (both period pieces by the same director), it makes sense to put them together on one disc.

Yes, but that's the last title on the schedule I have. I think well be seeing it in October along with Night Of The Comet

Cool. I'm actually hoping for a number of movies I want on Blu-ray to be spread out throughout the year. That way I don't have to spend too much money in a single month.

I'd expect The Fog and The Howling to possible go up in Feburary or March, and I'm not sure about Day, that's a while off.

I'm crossing my fingers for good transfers for all those films.

2 titles a month may sounds like a lot, but it actually spreads out quite well doesn't it?

Here's hoping Day is a rescan not just a recycle of the AB transfer.

The Howling has a couple of European blu rays which are apparently quite good.

The Fog UK release is supposed to be quite ordinary, but I imagine that will be a different transfer, as all of the Studio Canal Carpenter Blus had worse transfers then the US ones, like Escape From New York and They Live.

I was a cheerleader through junior year, and I was on the volleyball team my sophomore and freshman years. I've had a steady boyfriend since freshman year of college, and I'm 99% positive we'll be engaged by this time next year. If there's any argument that I am not an everyday girl, then it would be that I am too ordinary. I like films, not just horror. Thanks for acting like you know me though. But that's what you get when you pretend that you know every detail of my life, I just give you the rundown. And another thing, I use bestbuy.com for my pre-orders...

No, I was saying Everyday GUYS (and not all of those) tend to be the most involved in ordering Halloween III and Lifeforce months ahead of time.
I suspect Scream already suspects this about the majority of their demographic base, so saying that the other is less discerning and more universally forgiving of any particular indulgence that takes them off the track of the original movie, doesn't really add much to the argument.

Of course, if you do happen to be 18-24 female and into Halloween III, The Howling and The Fog--and a cheerleader at that--more power to you. Where were you when I was in high school?

Both this and the Blu-ray/DVD cover art are created by Nathan Thomas Milliner. He's an incredible artist with a true passion for film.

Google him, you'll be impressed with his work.

I have the Dutch release and it is a decent disc. A trailer, a tvspot and a featurette of apprx 25 minutes. Audio and Video are good and at €5,- ($6.70) you can't go wrong

They 100% have "Dark Angel". It will be coming sometime this year, as far "The Punisher", I'm not sure but I don't believe Cliff or anyone else from Shout has mentioned anything about it.

"The Town that Dreaded Sundown" is an amazing film and I really hope it comes to blu-ray, and I could care less about the double pack aspect. I just hope it gets BD treatment, and "The Evictors" is a cool movie to have added to that release.
The Town that Dreaded Sundown has been shown on television in a nice looking HD print. I can not imagine the Shout Factory would have good high definition elements avaliable to them but just put this out on standard definition. I'm not sure about The Evictors but imagine even if there were source material problems they could put a lower quality encode on the blu-ray (Criterion has done this with Certified Copy, etc).

There is no HD master at MGM so they are just up converting from an SD master

Cliff, so is this confirmation that Town will be DVD only? I personally would be ok with that...to own the film on any form of physical media would still be a real treat.

There's a widescreen version of The Evictors that has been available on Netflix streaming for quite some time now, but it is standard-def only. They usually do HD when available, so that doesn't seem promising.

I feel like the double bill will still go the Blu-ray route regardless of the lack of HD materials. The upcovert must look pretty decent if the majority of us felt it was a true HD presentation. It's similar in terms to Shout's upcoming release of "Exterminator 2" where an HD master was done but it will be released in a 2-DVD Action Collection with 3 other fun films. I think Scream Factory is aware of the cult appeal for "The Town That Dreaded Sundown" alone so I'm sure they'll be aiming to put it on Blu-ray. As always, we'll just have to wait and see

Very True! Yep we will just have to wait and see like you said. Of course I would prefer blu given the choice but either way it goes will be fine by me.
