If Hospital Massacre is a DVD only release, I hope it's solo at least. I really don't want to be forced to buy a double or triple feature DVD, just to get the one movie I'm interested in. Who am I kiddin'...I'll buy it regardless. A shame it's not gonna be on blu.

Perhaps you guys could make the BD of Hospital Massacre a Shout Select title, for the few peeps (like me) that are really dying to see it in HD?

It is funny how everyone is so different...I personally buy DVDs still all the time. Do I prefer Blu-ray? Sure but it is all about the movie for me at the end of the day. HD is like an extra little treat for me. It's like the cherry on top of a Sundae, that cherry really makes the Sundae complete but if it is not there I'm still going to devour that Sundae and it is going to be fantastic! Well that is my little metaphor

[QUOTE=jeepersitsthecreeper;7009053]No one's obligated to buy anything! I see his point, as I too find it hard to make myself buy a dvd when multiple blu-rays that I want more are coming out, too.

His comment was an opinion. He wasn't hating on Shout and wasn't being rude to Cliff or anyone elese who works there by demeaning their efforts and job.
He respectfully, as I also am, declined the offer to buy dvds of these films.

I'm not acting spoiled either, I just can't bring myself to buy dvd after making the switch to blu-ray and getting rid of majority of my dvd collection, save a few titles. The centrepeice of my den is my blu-ray collection, my dvds aren't even in sight. I would gladly buy a blu-ray, but SORRY...

I'll have to respectfully pass on the dvd-only releases.

Its an opinion that makes no sense to me, a chance to own a movie in disc format to pass because its DVD only. DVD is still "in" and the world is big enough as is shelf space for both DVD and Blu Ray. SORRY I think the idea of Blu Ray or nothing for an obscure genre title is really silly. Its not a hate comment but the tone of the comment was negative ..and it is kind of a spoiled attitude. I always beleive there are times we should be glad a title is coming out but then we get whiny complaints about blu ray only , wheres the slipcover, its only Region A, etc etc..not enough cheese to go with the whine

Not that I get too bugged-up about it, but the more amended US title was "The Howling II: the New Wave". (Just that we still got the British title on the imported Thorn EMI tapes when it went to VHS.)
And the only reason I mention is, if Shout can get MGM's Hemdale movies, wouldn't mind seeing it alongside Howling 1. They're by no means in each other's league, but there's something cultish today watching Christopher Lee be such a good sport about putting on 80's-punk sunglasses.
(As well, as, um, Sybil, er, well....you know. (ahem!) )

If Hospital Massacre is DVD only, I actually hope it's a double or triple feature. All of these releases are getting expensive (but they're totally worth it).

I'm just glad the film is finally hitting disc. It always reminded me a bit of Bloody Birthday, maybe because the same little girl is in the opening scene.

Thanks, jeepersitsthecreeper.

dsman71, your reply was kind of hilarious to me, as your comments were more in line with the type of response keeping Shout Factory from making their Friday announcements. Nothing in my post warranted your "stupid" and "spoiled little baby" remarks. Cliff stated that the demand for X-Ray wasn't big enough to justify the cost of putting it on Blu-ray, so I posted to do my small part in changing that perception. No negativity there, since I'm extremely grateful for Scream Factory and all their hard work.

As for the world, it may be big, but my space is limited and I get to choose what I want to fill it with. I never said X-Ray was my favorite movie of all time and that I just had to own it immediately. I don't mind waiting for a high definition release, but if enough time passes and one never comes, maybe I will change my mind and accept that a DVD is my only option until I die. For now, I'm not interested.

Keep going on about cheese and whine if you must, though. You seem to be the only one indulging.

To clairfy it is your response *I wont buy it because its not blu ray* is the negative comment that you are implying. And you also made it sound like it was a big enough film, and you would have bought it , but aw shucks its not going to be on Blu Ray so im not getting it, hmph!
And you will have to keep waiting for it to be in HD because if Shout isnt going to do it, then unless some 3rd rate company just puts out some cheaply made BS Blu ray of it it wont happen.
And while you may sound greatful for all these titles, that blu ray or nothing seems really shallow. Im not buying every movie SF is releasing but its not because of the format. And I am thrilled to see all kinds of cool titles coming out whether I get them or not.
And if you keep whining , I may have to get more cheese. I only indulge from reading comments like yours.

Let's see:

1) Making assumptions about the true meaning behind my words.
2) Calling me shallow because you don't agree with my choice.

Yup, you sound exactly like the kind of person on the internet who would turn someone off from wanting to interact further.

1)The true meaning behind your words were never clear other that how it looked at face value
2)I dont seem to actually calling you shallow, *it sounds shallow* doesnt mean Im calling you shallow, but you can take the comment any little way you wish as I did with yours about not buying a movie because its not Blu Ray

"Yup" you sounds like one of those internet trolls who wants to get the last word in and keep up a useless debate. Am I calling you a troll ? If the shoe fits pal. And if you take this too personally , you have my deepest sympathy. And I really dont care at all what you think of me or how I sound to you

So if you want to continue this worthless back and forth business to get the last word in, call Lawrance O Donnell

lol, yes. I'M the troll here. I'M the one taking all of this too seriously.

Dude, read your own posts before hitting submit. If you don't care for a response, probably best not to quote other posters and engage.

Also, don't respond to this. Cause that would make you a bit of a hypocrite.

While I'm incredibly understanding to collector habits including not wanting to buy DVD any longer, my collection is still very neck and neck with my DVDs and Blu-ray's. Some independent labels that I really love supporting still only release onto DVD (Code Red DVD, although they are finally entering the Blu-ray market this year).

If I appreciate a companies efforts as well as the products there putting out, I can always voice my opinion about what I'd rather prefer and what not but at the end of the day, I just want that certain movie in my collection regardless of DVD or Blu-ray format. We've been fortunate in Scream Factory's case so far since every release has seen a Blu-ray edition at very reasonable prices. If "X-Ray" or something else as niche like "The Vagrant" end up being DVD only releases, there's really nothing we can do. We have to keep in mind that while Shout Factory has accomplished some incredible releases since they formed, they are still an independent company and keeping budgets reasonable is as important to them as the care and quality they put into their products. Another upside to keep in mind with DVD only releases is that the prices will surely be a few bucks cheaper which is not a bad thing for anyone

Whenever the time comes where a film will see a DVD only edition through Scream Factory, I'm sure it's going to be for a very justified reason. Until then, let us bask in these Scream Factory Blu-rays!

Call me a hypocrite then since you went ahead to try to get the last word. You are so predictable
I do read my posts before I submit and you seem to want to continue this by responding back. I made my response and you have kept this going with several responses back. You made your point and I made mine This engage shouldnt have gone very far but since you want to keep going back and forth...how much time do you have on your hands today...maybe we can go it all all night, I know youd like that wouldnt you

Wild East is the perfect example for me of a company who is still releasing DVD only releases but I will continue supporting. They do great transfers and I love there titles. Sartana box set in May!
