Some 80's films that had unrated versions on VHS but never on DVD:

Dennis Hopper's "Colors" starring Robert Duval and Sean Penn and "Johnny Be Good" starring Anthony Michael Hall, Robert Downey Jr and Uma Thurman!

Enjoy some back art:
Phantasm II

Ability as a ninja aside, Franco Nero pisses all over Sho Kosugi in general terms. Kosugi's films are mostly awful, he's done nothing to match Django or Street Law.

That said, it would be great if Shout released the uncut Pray for Death, which is IMO the best of Kosugi's ninja films. The MGM MOD release was unfortunately cut.

I think the Weinsteins originally had the rights, but sold them to another company. And then that other company went out of business soon after, and the film has remained unreleased because of various complications (probably legal/monetary).

Also, regarding Cold Prey 2--I remember Anchor Bay had passed on it because the rights holders wanted too much money. I'm guessing Shout decided to go DVD only with that one because it was most cost-effective.

Thumbs up

It would be fantastic if Scream! Factory released this one, I can definitely see this being one of their releases too. The 1980 film, Fade To Black:

Cliff has expressed interest in the past in releasing both of those films. I believe the bigger matter was locating the current rights owner for them. We can still hope that these flicks will join the Scream Factory family one day, I'd kill to have them on Blu-ray.

Fade to Black has a very interesting concept that I think gets lost in the execution, but still an original and under-appreciated film that could really benefit from a special edition.

Phantasm II is going to look lonely on my shelf without the first film.

If it's true then it means they have access Halloween 1,4,and 5. Which would be awesome. Even though they just released 4 & 5. As well as many more amazing horror movies. Really hoping it's true. But not holding my breath.

Anchor Bay did the first DVD. Some company that doesn't even have a website called Trinity Home Entertainment did the second DVD. Both are OOP. It would be awesome if SF acquired it and gave it the deluxe treatment.

Maximum Overdrive is such a fun movie. It also has the best Stephen King cameo:

Would love this.
A Stephen King commentary would be an absolute jewel for scream.it would sell by the truckload.

Was Night of the demons still with AB?.

One thing i dont get.Could SF release say The Entity again from AB or do they have to have a seperate agreement with the original rites holders or could AB sublease for the length of their rites agreement. I noticed thers a pre-order up on Amazon UK for The Lords of salem dvd(cant see it being right) which is AB,i wonder if the "Contempary" releases could include that.about 00000.1% chance i think.

Does Anchor Bay even have anything left? (Edit: AB does list the original Phantasm, part 3, and 4 as movies in their catalog)

In regards to The Entity--AB licensed it from Fox. Also, The Lords of Salem is with Sony (in the US, at least).

Personally, I'd rather see Shout/Scream Factory get ahold of all those Dimension/Miramax titles that Echo Bridge have been desecrating as of late.
