Now, I bought the 1080p HD version from 'iTunes' and I must say that based on my own comparisons, though it's far from a full remaster, there are moments when you can see an improvement...

The question remains: Why are they releasing it (yet again) on DVD when so many want a Blu-ray release? We don't just want a streaming version. We want a true BD release; concrete, can hold it in your hands and such

Sorry; just had to vent since I noticed some discussion about this film
The DVD that's being released in May is coming from WB. The studio is listed as 'Paramount Catalog'. All of the WB/Paramount releases use this same studio listing.

Personally, I'd be more inclined to buy something that hasn't been released on disc before (Schizoid) than something that already has (Prom Night II).

I'd love to have Prom Night II on blu-ray, but in the meantime I have a perfectly watchable DVD to tide me over. Bring on the Schizoid blu-ray!

I'd love to have Paul Bartel's 1972 classic "Private Parts". Is there any chance of this getting the blu-treatment?

To those who haven't seen it - imagine taking the weird characters out of Twin Peaks, Wild at Heart and Blue Velvet and putting them in a hotel together with a psychotic killer. Great fun for the whole family

Same for me. Money don't grow on tree sadly where I live, so I rarely double-dip on blu unless it's a film I really want. I'll take a blu of The All American Girl (something that will never happen) before Prom Night 2 or Howling 2 in a minute any days of the week.

I would agree if it's a title like Wes Craven's Deadly Blessing. Not only is Schizoid an extremely obscure movie, evidently it's a terrible movie as well. I'm just sayin', Shout should consider putting Schizoid on blu (if they do indeed put it out on blu) with perhaps another movie as a double feature (*hint* Hospital Massacre *hint*).

I think they should just do an SD UPCONVERT on BLURAY for the titles that wont be getting BD because of not getting an HD master!! That way the sales will be boosted and we still get BLURAY versions. These would be the ideal options:

SLASHER TRIPLE FEATURE:
- Hospital Massacre
- Schizoid
- The Vagrant

Then release THE GODSEND on BD individually, its a really good, underrated movie.

or

HORROR 3-PACK:
- Godsend
-Vagrant
- Schozoid

with HOSPITAL MASSACRE on individual BD because its arguably the most popular of all 4, just saying.

or

SLASHER DOUBLE FEATURE:
- Hospital Massacre
- Schizoid

and then another DOUBLE FEATURE:
- Godsend
- The Vagrant

... so long as they get released on BLURAY!

Anyone of those options would do for me though given the choice id want HM as a single bd release.

Just get em out on Blu-Ray and I will snap it up. I more than likely will have to pass if they aren't blu. But i respect the hard work you guys are putting into these films. Keep up the great work, and keep us seeing blue. lol.

I think this is what they will be doing, hopefully, based on what has already been said by them on FaceBook, the months are a guess based on the season they hinted at for each release, and the 1st box set with Cockneys was just a guess. But this is the order they were placed in:

from FB:
[Show spoiler]No other details (meaning configurations, extras, etc.) to report and keep in mind, that all are subject to change.

The Fog - Summer
The Incredible Melting Man - Summer
Hospital Massacre - Late Summer
Day of the Dead - Fall
Scanners II & III - Fall
Night of the Comet - Late Fall
The Horror Show - Late Fall
The Vagrant - Late Fall
Schizoid - Late Fall
The Godsend - Late Fall

The Fog - (JULY)
The Incredible Melting Man - (JULY)
Cockneys VS Zombies - (JULY)
Hospital Massacre - (AUG)
BOX SET 1 (AUG)
Swamp Thing - (AUG)
Day of the Dead - (SEPT)
Scanners II & III - (SEPT)
Night of the Comet - (OCT)
The Horror Show - (OCT)
The Vagrant - (NOV)
Schizoid - (NOV)
The Godsend - (NOV)

So I think they will be doing Hospital Massacre as a solo Blu Ray and then doing "Vagrant"/"Godsend"/"Schizoid" as a triple feature Blu Ray. That would rule, because most of their titles are either on netflix, youtube, online, or another format & Blu Ray is fresh. If these very OBSCURE movies do not get the Blu Ray treatment now from SF, then they never will 5 or 6 years from now when they go back to MGM.

[Show spoiler](assuming BD is still our main platform)

I will be happy so long as they just get through this patch of unknown format titles with Blu-ray releases. Good god everyone know 99% of their other announced movies will be Blu-ray, just not these three or four.

These are the only ones I have been worried about making the jump to blu, and I really do hope they make it. I will buy them all three time, just please do not resort to dvd only releases any time soon for any of your films.

At this point the only DVDs I buy are from companies that are unable to replicate on Blu-ray because of the higher costs associated with the format, i.e., people like Code Red for instance. Other than there not being suitable materials for an HD master, if you're a larger company there really is no other reason to release anything on DVD only. Release a combo pack if you have to but not just DVD. Regardless of the popularity of the film itself I believe you'll sell more units if it's a combo pack rather than just ONE format.

I was getting concerned about missing items from my order too but my remaining March Madness sale items just mysteriously showed up today without e-mail notice. Today I received Halloween II (with nurse hat), Deadly Blessings (with poster), Prison (with poster), The Funhouse, and Terror Train. I noticed today's package came from a different address, "World Media Corporation," than the first part of my order so that might explain the inconsistencies. On Monday I had received the first part of my order that did come with an e-mail shipping notice from a Shout Factory address (this consisted of Halloween III, The Nest, and Terrorvision/Video Dead). Hope your order shows up soon.

Edit: I checked my shoutfactory.com order history to see if there was any indication there of when items are mailed out but items in the World Medial Corporation package I got today still just say "sent to warehouse" on shoutfactory.com status.
