So, this means that Warner did get the rights? That is, it was one of the titles Paramount sold? Movie rights confuse me

I'm kind of surprised by this not being on Blu. I have two versions on DVD; one of them is German and even has a 5.1 track.
Scared the crap out of me when it came out (hey, I was only 5)

Disappointing for sure, but $10 for 4 rare sci-fi/action flicks is still a good deal to me. Sure beats VHS. Already got this one pre-ordered. Can't wait!

Default Sf conspiracy theory #1!

Scream Factory, VIA FACEBOOK:
Quote:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROGER CORMAN!! Where to begin with just horror films alone? Piranha, Humanoids from the Deep, Slumber Party Massacre, Dementia 13, The Terror, Galaxy of Terror, The Little Shop of Horrors, The Raven, Forbidden World, Pit and the Pendulum...and that's just the tip of the cult film iceberg!

NOTICE:

They named every film that Shout Factory has released from Corman in some form (except The Raven and PIT), and we know that they did get a few Vincent Price films from MGM.

So is it so crazy to think that they could only get one Corman-Poe movie and it was THE RAVEN/PIT, and that the rest of them went to TGG. And the rest of the Price films they got from MGM weren't connected to Corman.

There are many more, better known Corman films that are out there, other than The Raven/PIT. It may be a coincidence, but I think this was a subtle, maybe even subconscious post, to remind people of The Raven/PIT at little more and maybe have them get thinking about it, and so they would possibly want to, also subconsciously, buy it more.

I think because we know they have SOME Vincent Price films, as Cliff has stated on video, this is not that crazy of an idea...

Especially since he said we have A COUPLE which is TWO...

Arrow will apparently be releasing Pit, and there has been quite a bit of crossover between Scream and Arrow, so I could see that being a possibility.

Paul Zdanowicz is the artist, I think. I searched it by image to make sure someone on here was plagiarizing... and it is legitimate. And stunning. We should have a vote on facebook
Thanks for the kind words on the piece! I appreciate it!

That's just Shout PR.

I was under the impression that Shout and Scream's FB page was guided by the other guy who works with Cliff to get titles, the guy with black hair from the frightener22 video interview. That guy said that 'he was excited about getting DEADLY BLESSING, but Cliff hates it, so I had to try harder", which game me the impression that they are co-workers who are part or leaders of a team that go to the companies and get titles. and he said in that video that he manages the FB page among other things.

also, I also support the FOG artwork that is above... Great Job.

welp, you think you might be open to lettin em use it/ you should send it to their site and fb page.

Maybe if they saw it they would use it, or ask you to come back and do another one / do a different cover.

If you throw in FREE or VERY CHEAP, trust me they will be more likely to say YESSSSS!!!!

HAHA

Is anyone else getting the SciFi 4 movie set from Scream ?
So Arrow is releasing Pit and the Pendulum ? Very interesting
With Arrow I really have to like a film enough to get a USA and import Blu Ray release which I did with Deep Red, and they have both Squirm and Invasion of the Body Snatchers coming from what I gathered...with them I wait to for reviews on the transfers.
I had thought about getting that Arrow edition of Dawn of the Dead set but the Anchor Bay version to me still is the Holy Grail ...
I am getting Black Sabbath from them since no one else has put it on Blu Ray and Arrow looks to be the edition to get....and Baron Blood I will get as well...lots of extras and great packaging

From what I've read around here, Warner having the rights means the Blu-ray is more likely to be released closer to the 10-year end of the spectrum than the 10-day, correct? :/

Just heard on AV Maniacs forum that Cliff has confirmed that the Sci-fi set will have all of the movies but Time Guardian in fullframe. This means that Arena, Eliminators and America 3000 will be the old full frame MAR 20 year old video masters. Their excuse is that this is a budget release and that we are getting 4 films for 9.99. I could have sworn that this is Shout Factory, not echo bridge. Last week I bought the Jackie Chan beginnings set to find movies with no Cantonese track, dubbed dvd only. IDK this is not putting a good taste in my mouth for more MGM offerings. Somehow crap like Alienator was widescreen but we can't get widescreen for these films. They said that they don't feel these will sell well and it costs 26,000 to do a new widescreen master. Oh well, perhaps if this gets under 5 I will buy but it is 2013 and I do NOT support MAR releases. I will continue to buy Warner Archive discs since no matter how subpar the movie, they always release it correctly. I will continue to purchase the Scream/Shout titles that are done properly, but I won't support a substandard affair such as that release. I
d rather pay 30 dollars for the set and have it done properly. I did not ask for a lower quality bargain release of films I have been waiting years for.
I could have sworn that Arena and Eliminators were on either Showtime or Netflix in widescreen at some point. Am I wrong?
I don't mean to rant, but I expected Shout to use the best master or if it is subpar to remaster the films. This is sounding like a cheaper priced MGM MOD / Fox Cinema Archive line where some films "are too costly to do properly." Well 9.99 is too costly for a fullframe VHS transfer.

It will be $7.99 on Amazon, which is still a decent deal for four films, even if only one is widescreen.

You still should of got Arrow of Dawn. It's a fantastic set and probably the best release of the movie so far.

That's not it. It's because those full screen transfers are the only masters MGM has (which is quite a shock really). There's no ruling out if we can contribute in for example giving a 35mm print of Arena to Shout!, right? Which speaking of, I hope the full frame transfer they got for that is not the PAL master the aired on THIS TV.
