Am I alone in wanting to see Scream release Twisted Nerve on Blu? Never see anyone mention this title. I don't believe Region 1 ever even got a proper DVD release.

Or even September.

August if filled with more titles than any other month, but September only currently has one on that slate. I am sure they need something to pair it to.

And on a side note, I really miss that rush of them teasing an announcement on Thursday, and then me checking my iPhone all morning Friday. I cant wait until we get more. And the pages upon pages of guesses. It was so fun!

My post originally said September or November, but the former seemed a bit early if new extras are being worked on as we speak. I do know of at least one more title from them in the works, which could potentially be a September release...

While on the topic of MGM; come on Scarecrows, Leviathan, and Dolls!
They, unfortunately, have already shot those down.

I think Arrow plays off of Scream, and Scream plays off of Arrow now.

Like with 'Motel Hell' or "Deranged". I am sure they saw the huge buzz that was made from that announcement via Arrow. I think this made them step back and think, hmmm, we definitely need to get this in our next MGM deal. also, Arrow may have done the same with their announcement of "Lifeforce".

So, I wouldn't give up hope on any of those. It might work out in a similar way.

This is just their first wave, really. I can't even begin to image what they are going to be churning out this time next year.

I replied to someone who had a comment about those people who don't own a 3D TV, so I was pointing out that many of us choose not to invest the money in the 3D equipment. I think it's a waste of money for a gimmick that isn't worth it, just like you trash and slander anaglyph. Nothing selfish about having an opinion, and by the way, I can complain about anything I like, sort of like you just did.
Trashing anaglyph is different from trashing Blu-Ray 3D. The former is an outdated, primitive form of 3D that serves no real purpose in an age where fans of 3D can get the real experience at home. It's akin to complaining that the latest Black Sabbath album isn't coming to cassette.

And yes, you can complain about anything you like, but to imply that it shouldn't be released on Blu-Ray 3D for no other reason than "we can't take advantage of it" or "we don't like it" is pointless, since the discs will still contain standard 2-D versions of the film. It's like all those people who were complaining about the possibility of "The Incredible Melting Man" containing the MST3K episode about the film. You don't have to take advantage of it, but it's there for those who would want and enjoy it. Why complain about extra?

It is a bit older, and somewhat obscure to be a classic. I would buy it, but I think maybe Criterion would fit it more. Maybe? I could see that.

I think it is with Lionsgate though, through Studio Canal? I am probably wrong.

MGM is re-releasing the original "Carrie" in a slightly cooler package in September, to coincide with the release of the remake.

I love "The Rage: Carrie II". I hope they release that in the future. and I actually briefly went to the high school in North Carolina where it was filmed. Everyone has that hometown movie, and mine is "Carrie II", but "The Hunger Games" and "Final Exam" were also filmed in my area as well.

Watching Night School for the first time a few months ago, I realized that it had been shot at my kindergarten, and around the same time I was there! I don't recall any filming though. I had no idea beforehand, but all it took was a single shot of the childhood cubbies...

There are so many in my city. Its a suburb of Charlotte NC. Which its the second largest city on the East Coast by Population. The size in combination with North Carolina's tax laws for film make it a magnet for a lot of films.

April Fools Day, the remake, was filmed at my family's country club, and Talledega Nights was filmed at a shady motel that is next to my grocer. Part of Silence of the Lambs was also filmed down the street from me.

Its funny, and really interesting how there are so many films that have been made, at least around me, and I never know until going "Oh Yeah.." and then Googling it to find out that I pass the filming location like every day.

I wonder if Scream is going to do any straight-up Giallow films. Have they commented on this? or any super-cheesy Zombie films from Italy?

and Today might be the ofirst day this week we did not get some kind of announcement.

Monday - Day of the Dead art
Tuesday - All Night Horror Marathon
Wednesday - Amityville 3D in 3D

and really there were a ton Last week too.

They did not lie when they said there were going to be a lot of announcements in May.

I don't remember if there was anything specific in their initial mission statement (or whatever) but the lack of a single foreign film so far makes me think that they are consciously focusing entirely on English-language films. (I typed 'American', but had forgotten about Cockneys and Zombies. Well, what do you know - I've forgotten about it again! ) And there's no 'I' in team or "W' in giallo.

I hope that they at least consider it. Don't under estimate the giallo fans out there...myself included!

The one Italian film on my mind is most certainly Suspiria. Dimension might still have it, but I don't really know. I know they were spearheading the remake at some point.

Night School is listed as a Slasher but if that isn't an American Giallo I don't know what is.

They have been. They've gone through so much, but ultimately what stops them each time they attempt it is that there is apparently some rights issues with the original. This is according to an article on Bloody Disgusting.

Here's something I don't think has been suggested yet: What about some of the cult horror films that Code Red DVD had previously released on DVD? I mean titles like The Strangeness, Beyond The Door, Dead Pit, Land of the Minotaur, Night of the Dribbler, The Visitor, etc.? These titles would likely be perfect for Blu-Ray Double Features, many have a decent assortment of special features already ready courtesy of Code Red DVD, and I imagine it wouldn't be too difficult to work something out with Code Red DVD, since AFAIK they don't release their titles on Blu-Ray (yet).

I heard that it was cancelled, because they originally had Natalie Portman signed on, then Black Swan was made and it was too similar to their plans, similar to what happened with the American Akira and Chronicle.
