That's correct - In the Mouth of Mandess is WB via NL.

I hope, if they did get more that one title from Showtime, they got the Mila Kunis remake of Piranha from 1995.
I'm pretty sure Echo Bridge has that one. I believe I saw it in an 8 Pack. Although, it would make an interesting double bill with The Death Artist, the remake of A Bucket of Blood.

It's a classic. Nobody remembers the sequels or at least pretend they don't exist.

As I said, why not a Scream Factory release of Nomads? Again, Pierce Brosnan and John McTiernan, easy ****ing sell. The math's not hard.

Warner having Exorcist III or ITMOM doesn't mean that its impossible...
It just means Criterion needs to get their shit together.

Until Criterion releases a second title licensed from Warner in addition to Badlands I consider that release to be an anomaly more than anything.

I wonder what the chances are of the likes of Warner,Lionsgate etc starting up their own Horror sub-labels.I think with Shout releasing titles like Ninja 3 and the chiller titles under the scream banner as a sign that the label is a success. It would seem to be great revenue stream for these studios as these are films they are just sitting on.Can you imagine the sales if Warner kicked off their line with Friday 13th collectors editions or Lionsgate kicking off next year with some of the gems there sitting on.The sale of physical media will become more of a niche market as time goes by and they would be stupid not to mine it,also theres no more loyal fanbase than horror imo.The vast majority of us on here want every scream release we can afford to complete our collections.
I really only want scream to release all these titles but if they won't license them out then i at least hope they look at the scream template of the last year.

I think that they should release many different horror titles:
those above
9th Configuration
Phantom of the Paradise (if not Scream!)
Phantasm
Bubba Ho-Tep (if not Scream!)
New Nightmare (alone)
etc.

I would also like to see a ShowTime double feature of Piranha (95) paired with the remake of Bucket of Blood.

But it is not with Echo Bride. The Echo Bridge film is one called 'Piranha, Piranha'(1972). It has been released on Home Video by them several times under it's original title 'Piranha'.

I actually have that set and the smaller 5-film set that it is featured in.

Chiller has had a deal with Shout for a while. Shout has released one or two of their past movies on BD before the Scream label came along.

And Jeff Nelson teased about a new big deal that is being finalized in that podcast a few weeks back. He did say it was BIG and would have enough titles to bring back Friday Announcements.

It could be a new deal with a company like Echo Bridge or Lionsgate, or an old one with the same companies like MGM, Universal, or Fox.

Or possibly this one they got Body Bags in.

I think they would have gotten Phantom in their original Fox deal, had they been allowed to. Its a complex story involving the president of Fox being married to the star of Phantom, Jessica Harper. But now that he is no longer there, I simply can not see why they wouldn't let it be licensed out, the alternative would be just sitting on it for no real reason.

I have no clue if they ever would do another Fox deal, but If they did I wouldn't be surprised to see that or maybe even Shock Treatment and some of their Hammer titles.

The majority of that list, excluding maybe 9th Configuration, seems like a fantasy to me, especially for Criterion!!

Well, Repo Man was no prize pig either. I do, however, intend to get it...

someone posted that some company has already got the rights to dawn and martin and is planning a Blu-ray release??? and it'll be worth the wait!!!!

If this is true, and it's a big if, it will probably be a high profile company like Anchor Bay or even Lionsgate perhaps. Rubenstein was asking a mint for DAWN and on a short contract as well, so it's not going to be coming from a company like Synapse or Shout - that's for damn sure

"Twisted Terror" sounds kind of hokey compared to Shout!'s "Scream Factory" or MGM's "Midnite Movies," but it's better than nothing.

If I were Lionsgate, I'd revive Vestron Video or Lightning Video as a sublabel and go full on retro 80's with the cover art.
zbinks, that sounds like a license to print money to me.hope they do something like that.

Criterion did confirm that Badlands was not the only title they managed to license from Warner (specifically, they also managed to get one pre-Code title).

With that said, I'm with you in that I consider the whole deal with Warner as an anomaly, rather than the deals they've made in the past with other studios.

I honestly don't trust the interpretation of that mumbled "pre-code" statement from the Q&A event. The context of the question and the answer were both highly confused.

I'm all for Criterion getting some select titles from Warner; I just don't think anyone should have any real expectations whatsoever until specific films get formally announced.

Cliff, was Body Bags in the deal with Day of the Dead?
If it was Showtime, would Psycho 4 be a possibility, perhaps with bonus feature film Bates Motel (with Bud Cort)?

New Amsterdam owns Dawn of the Dead. Unfortunately Cliff has shot it down. But there is always hope in the future.
