NO LIST

I see no point in myself and others keeping it up if no one is going to pay any attention to it.
I am sure Cliff gets tired of mercilessly typing "No".
Problem is, that's ALL he types when he wants to end the conversation about a title.
I'm sure it feels like a nice, quick answer to the thousands of fanboy Go-Ask-Grandma requests, but it makes them all sound like Howling II "Faugh, I didn't like it! " commissar-of-culture snubs.

There are plenty of reasons why titles can't be pursued by either SF acquisitionist if they were Warner or LG, or if they were TV-movies, or if they have music rights, don't fit the 70's-80's sci/horror label, are more jealously guarded by their home-studio's back-catalog, don't have the sought-after special features to track down, or are just whereabouts unknown.
It's easy to get caught up in a curmudgeonly net identity, or to enjoy frustrating frustratable fans that probably deserve it, but it doesn't solve the problem--It makes it look like it's the work of one person who gets some thrill out of being curmudgeonly, which hurts the company's reputation if it makes it look like all decisions are arbitrary. Saying "No, because I said so" never prevented any kid (and certainly not anyone here at that age) from continuing "Please? Pleasepleasepleasepleeease?" in the hopes just a little strategic cajoling and manipulation would work.

Talk to us, Cliff. We promise we won't hit you with our plastic lightsabers if you tell us that Image owns it or the music rights are tied up; nobody argues with facts for long, and it'll probably end the discussion a lot faster.
(See how quickly the ItMoM jokes turned to "Warner won't let us!" instead of "Cliff won't let us!"?)

No, he's unfortunately always like that. Check out his entirely useless and often inaccurate commentaries for The Leopard Man and Narrow Margin, in which he alternates between narrating obvious and unimportant on-screen action, offering up the most rudimentary and un-illuminating 'factoids' about Lewton and Noir (respectively), and making flat-out incorrect genre observations and even getting dates, authors, and studios wrong. Honestly, if he were a freshman making an oral presentation for an intro film class, he'd get a C. But, hey, he's William Friedkin, hit director of The Exorcist and French Connection, so let's stick him on there regardless of whether he actually knows what he's talking about!

If anyone is interested,
The Bird with the Crystal Plumage was finally officially announced from VCI, 8/9/13.
Though, I'm more than satisfied with Blue Underground's release.

oh, and Halloween - 35th Anniversary Edition was officially announced from the Halloween Movies FB page.
I don't know how that wasn't brought up yesterday lol. The fans on here usually freak out.

I had posted this in the PoD thread:

Quote:
I think he means an interview - 'Just did some commentary...I still look good!'

The 'some' qualifier makes it sound like an interview, you either record a commentary or you don't. Also, you wouldn't say 'I still look good' if you were talking about an audio commentary.
Besides,
[Show spoiler]he's only in the film for roughly fifteen minutes and has no real spoken dialog - I seriously doubt he could talk about the film for 90 minutes!

^Uncut widescreen for this title has more than 1 meaning
On an aside, do people really pay attention to the quotes on a DVD/BD release, that's some nice artwork spoiled by a silly quote from someone I've never heard of (although that could be just me).

Any 'review' with exclamation points in it can be dismissed out of hand. Just imagine how it would look in print.

So, no. Image's rights will not expire for quite a few years.

Why is everyone bringing up titles that are not even remotely possible, right now.
PLEASE REFERENCE TO THE O.P NO LIST.

NO LIST

I see no point in myself and others maintaining the list if no one is going to pay any attention to it.
I am sure Cliff gets tired of mercilessly typing "No".

So please read it next time. And if you want to make a serious list of actually possible titles be my guest, but there is a SHOUT / SCREAM WISHLIST THREAD for the other kind. As in not Universal / MGM / FOX or any smaller company that have deals with, or actual solid speculation.
It is a little annoying if the wish lists are titles that have no chance such as Warner, Lions Gate, Echo Bridge, ect. At the same time though, I wouldn't say because it's on that "no list" that there is no chance, as Cliff recently started a new deal with MGM and Universal, so a lot of titles that were denied before are up for grabs now. I have no problem with wish lists as long as again, they don't ask for the same titles over and over again that Scream have 0% chance releasing. If people stick to MGM or Universal titles though there is no harm asking again.

As for the wish list thread, that is a great idea. The question is, will Cliff frequent it and reply there? He already has several threads to frequent on this site, and if not, it is kind of pointless no?

Lord of Illusions looked pretty good on HDTV, but unfortunately it's the severely edited theatrical version.

I try to answer all questions, but it's hard sometimes. I do the best I can.
I also have questions to answer on FB too.

I might just be over reading, which I usually never do...

But was that the Cliff way of saying you had both "Lord of Illusions" and "Bad Taste"?
And that smileyface is awfully suspicious lol.

Or am I just drinking too much coffee?

Cliff, what about Clive Barker's RawHead Rex and Clive Barker's Transmutations, both were realesed in the US by Empire, are they part of the MGM catalog?

No double features, please.

Also Candyman 2: Farewell To The Flesh and ofcourse Clive Barker's Lord Of Illusions.

all should be under MGM, are this coming up?

So according to Facebook, Psycho II and III are being released on September 24. A month before October, how appropriate.

On a sidenote, titles from Warner Brothers, Paramount, Sony and Lionsgate should be presumed to be "No's" until/unless Cliff says otherwise.

Scream Factory also confirmed on Facebook that The Horror Show will be released as a DVD + BD Combo Pack.

I hope they can do a reversible cover, similar to Dark Angel / I Come in Peace, with the House 3 artwork on the back. That would fill the hole in my collection, and many others, once and for all. If we don't get into the post-3 sequels and the Italian ones. lol.

I know the Psycho sequels are on the top of my list for October.

Although don't think I'm not including the original Psycho into the equation. If I buy the sequels first, I don't intend on watching them right away until I get my hands on the Hitchcock film.
