Edit: Just bought what I hope is the Canadian version on ebay...had a different UPC, and the cover was slightly different (DVD logo was on the bottom left, not the bottom right; no LA Times critic quote). *crosses fingers*

Second EDIT: Seller conformed it was a Canadian import, so hopefully there aren't multiple Lionsgate Canadian imports that aren't all the same (and I'm not even a big fan of the movie! Sigh...the things we put ourselves through...)
As long as it's the Lionsgate DVD, it'll be uncut.

I love Next Generation. It's not the best sequel and it's best described as a poor movie, but it has undeniable charm to it. And the sense of humor! So much of that script is so intentionally campy and absurd, it's a wonder that anyone really took it as a serious attempt at a horror picture. The licking, the senior citizens in the camper, Darla, death by Cessna wheel, McConaughey's remote control leg, cannibals eating pizza. It never fails to make me giggle.

I think a combo pack would do quite well for them if Universal is willing to cough up the rights. Here's hoping

I'm a fan of the film as well for all of the above reasons and more. Grandpa's random departure from the films dinner scene is hilarious in my opinion and always makes me laugh. He's like "Alright, I'm outta here!" and just shuffles away.

I hated the film originally and turned it off after 20 minutes when it first premiered on HBO or Cinemax. But thanks to repeat showings on the channel, I wound up catching bits and pieces and it kept attracting my attention since it was so bizarre every time I saw a new scene in the film and wondered "What the hell?", that it won me over. I especially love Vilmer as Mat goes all out with his performance and really steals the show.

Also, the uncut version is nothing to get excited about. It plays like a rough cut in my opinion, mostly since one sequence is far less effective in the uncut vs theatrical version.
[Show spoiler]When Vilmer chases one guy down and runs him over repeatedly with the truck. It's all in one far to short scene in the uncut version. Meanwhile it's split up with some other scenes in the theatrical cut, thus when it cuts back to the scene. It appears he's been chasing the guy a lot longer than he did.

The weird "Illuminati made me do it" ending. lol.
Its the closest to the original, but farthest away at the same time.

It is definitely due for a nice release, of course Renee Zellweger & Matthew McConaughey would never talk about it, but the crew and some of those "one time stars" would probably love to talk about their experiences on TCM4.

I would love Texas Chainsaw Massacre: the Next Generation, Piranha II: the Spawning, and Candyman, among so many other gems that Sony is sitting on.

Also some stores wouldn't carry the uncut version because of the hardcore inserts. I know Best Buy only carried the slightly edited release, and I only ever saw the uncut version at Borders(which no longer exists).

No, they were ported over.

Why would Sony not let a company make extras? I find that so strange.
I wonder which idiot made that rule...

Maybe Cliff can break 'em one day. lol.

I'm not surprised by that, honestly. Sony has a bunch of bizarre rules when it comes to video games, so it's only natural that the same holds true for their movie home releases.

Originally, Sony wouldn't even let TT port over the existing extras but that has since changed so anything could be possible.

Best Buy is a little picky, which makes no sense because they need all the business they can get.

I recently bought the Radley Metzger Collection Blu-ray set, but I was planning on only getting Score. The R rated version. I fully expected them not to carry the hardcore version, but they just flat out had none. They don't seem to carry any of Cult Epics titles, at least not the ones I have sought out.
Like the blu-ray of the horror short film double feature titled Pig.

Speaking of Pig. Who wants it?
Seriously PM me.
[Show spoiler]I will trade for practically anything. Its a promo copy, but has the limited edition slipcover and is identical to the regular edition except it says PROMO in small letters instead of having a "Limited Edition" number.

Same goes for Piranha II - the DVDs are just so abominable. Give me these completely uncut and I'll be happy. I mean, what is there to make extras from? No one from either of these films will want to have anything to do with them. Cameron has practically disowned his involvement in Piranha II.
While I'd really like PIRANHA II on Blu-ray as well, I have to mention that I didn't mind the DVD at all.
My old VHS version was missing scenes (ie: nudity) so the DVD was a step up for me!

If Shout could get Piranha II, I would die.
I would also love Piranha (1995), with Mila Kunis in her first role ever.
I missed the DVD and am still clutching my Canadian VHS.

I bought an on-demand DVD from Amazon just a year or two ago of PIRANHA '95.

Had wanted it literally for years and years!

Would buy a Blu-ray on the first day for sure.

Some PIRANHA stuff here:

I think ShowTime has it, which is where Scream got Body Bags, right?
If so it might be possible. If they would ever actually release it.
Its never even had an official DVD release.

Maybe Cliff can confirm?

Well the DVD that I bought was from Roger Corman's AMAZON store so I think that makes it official.
But no, it was never released through standard retail.

I'd buy an official Blu-ray release for sure but want PIRANHA II first.
