The Uninvited and I Married a Witch have already popped up on their site.
I think they'll announce Grey Gardens, Scanners, The Brood, and Eraserhead, to round out some of their creepier films.

(Yes, Grey Gardens.... Terrifying! )

I'm excited for the announcements but am tempering my expectations just a bit. It's always a thrill to learn about BD upgrades of previously-released films but IMO it's always nicer when it's stuff that's never been on DVD. Although Shout has really excelled in that dept.

Amen! I hope there's at least 3 titles from each batch of announcements that I will consider must-own. And I really hope Criterion goes with an all-Halloween themed release slate like everyone is speculating/hoping for.

After Anchorbay I remember Fox made the second dvd release in 2004 then some company called Trinity Home Entertainment in 2006 so I just wanted to know.

StudioCanal should be the overriding rightsholder since they own the De Laurentiis library of films, but the US rights to StudioCanal films are kind of wonky. Most of their films are currently distributed through Lionsgate, but there are other studios such (MGM, Universal, Paramount, to name a few) that hold US distribution rights to certain StudioCanal films.

EX: MGM holds the US rights to The Fog, The Howling, Escape from New York and a number of other former Embassy titles, but the films themselves are part of the StudioCanal library.

To my knowledge, Lionsgate has never released a copy of Maximum Overdrive, so I'd be a little hesitant to say with any certainty that Maximum Overdrive is definitely with Lionsgate via StudioCanal given it's release history without some insider clarification. On the other hand, it looks like all previous DVD releases are out of print.

Another excellent title that needs the blu treatment.

Arrow is releasing this (likely as a steelbook) late in 2013 as well.

Not to sound greedy, but I just thought those would be a perfect fit. I think a Cronenberg collection would fit the month more than a Cassavettes collection.

I think Criterion didnt want to be too obvious so they probably put it off at the risk of pissing off some who pretty much expected them to be announced today....
There wasnt anything announced today that I wanted either...

Happy about the last two but my Scanners II and III and going to look pretty sad sitting there without the first one. They are going to get lonely

I'm sure Scream would have appreciated a release of Scanners sooner than later to entice more sales of II & III.
