It was part of the 2nd deal with Universal, the one that also included Prince of Darkness and The Shadow, among others not yet announced.

... On another note, These also wouldn't (couldn't?) be Universal, because they noted they "Just Signed" the deal, but the 2nd Universal deal has been signed since weeks before POD was announced.

REGARDLESS, good point, I agree that NOTD/WB seem like the obvious answers.

hahaha tomorrow hopefully. When there is a hint of a possible announcement this thread moves a mile a minute. Good stuff though that there is that level of interest out there. My hope in humanity isn't dead yet

Well, since we know for sure that Scream Factory did do another deal with Universal I'll guess that the 2 titles are from them. Perhaps it will be SHOCKER, THE SERPENT AND THE RAINBOW, SSSSSSS, THE SENTINEL, GHOST STORY, THE BURBS or PEOPLE UNDER THE STAIRS. I'm fully aware that some of these titles were shot down in the past but so were others that have since been announced.

But this is a NEW deal.

Not assoicated to any other deal, and its with a smaller company.
Based on all of the hints.

They added that these have never been on blu-ray before, anywhere.
So I still maintain:

Witchboard and Night of the Demons.

Both owned by the same small production company.

I still say that's going to be a Trilogy box set from them at some point, and not a simple double feature of the latter two films.

They might just be waiting until a deal for Part 1 closes. It might be the one in the other deal.

I thought somebody who had "inside info" on the NOTD release said it wasn't Scream who was releasing it?

They do fit the hints up until they stated "One is requested often and has a large Fanbase".

If they were Sleepaway Camp 2 / 3 they would have said they both are often requested and share a large fanbase.

Neither of the sequels are particularly more popular that the other, or get requested more than the other.

Exactly. One is obviously a popular title, while the other is a more niche title.

They're very split. You either like one, the other, or both. Usually.

But I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Indeed they did. Cliff himself even shot Night of the Demons down at one point. But these two titles fit the clues particularly well and haven't been shot down today. Keep in mind too that no other company has stepped forward in the meantime. I'm guessing that they were either throwing us off the scent or one of the two sides have since reopened negotiations.

I really can't think of another pair of titles that makes sense and fits all of the clues aside for the Sleepaway Camp sequels, and I really don't think either of those films fits the hint, "One of the films, in particular, has been requested here a lot and has quite the fan base." Sleepaway Camp 2 is generally more highly regarded of the two, but I wouldn't say it has "quite the fanbase."
