The film seems ripe for a Blu-ray release via the Warner Archives collection. I thought WB had mentioned that the film was on their radar at some point but perhaps I'm mistaken. Regardless, the film should definitely see a Blu-ray release at some point.

I guess I wouldn't doubt it, although it very much so deserves better, I could see it joining it's sequel in the Warner Bros. Archive collection.

By the way, if which you didn't know "Targets" has now been released by Warner Bros. Archives with (surprisingly) commentary by Peter Bogdanovich and another feature called "Targets - An Introduction by Peter Bogdanovich."

Here's the link for that one.. http://www.wbshop.com/product/target...fType=&from=fn

I've read a lot of this thread over the past couple months, but was wondering if someone could explain or clarify something.

Regarding Scream's transfers - they are limited somewhat by the quality of the 'masters' they're supplied, is that right? So if they buy the distribution rights of a film from say Warner Brothers, Warner Brothers...what? Mails them a copy of the film? Releases it from their vault on 'loan'? Are we saying that if the film's owners don't take care of the original film properly, that could seriously hamper some of Scream's efforts?

I know Scream isn't a huge company and doesn't have a lot of money, but could poor condition originals be responsible for some of the subpar transfers people have mentioned?

How does this whole process work?
Whatever the reason Im seriously kind of put off by how there is never a scream title with a review that starts off like "this transfer looks great", its always like a paragraph or two of excuses followed by "but its the best its ever looked" which is a small consolation when your paying 25$ for old obscure movies. They do come packed with extras and cool new cover art but Id rather have a barebones disc with old cover art and the best picture available. I guess if they are a small company thats one thing its just hard to want to whip out your wallet unless you really like the movie when one of their blu rays costs the same price as a new release with top notch PQ/audio

For those interested, I received "Chilling Visions: 5 Senses of Fear" for review and it does not come with a slipcover. I know most of us had assumed that the newer films that were part of the Chiller Films deal would all come with slips but in this case, it does not. Just figured people may want to know

Actually you're right. Warner Archive has stated on their FB page that they do plan on releasing on Blu at some point. The movie even got the HD treatment for Warner Instant so I can definitely see it happening at one point.

Why is it so surprising? The original Paramount DVD included those extras and they just ported them over.

Chalk it up to assuming the DVD was barebones and these where new features. My bad. Just wish they'd give up this "made to order" DVD bullspit and do these films the blu-ray releases they deserve.

Nah, with these MOD releases we usually never get special features. Unless you consider the trailer as an extra, which I don't. As much as I agree with you on the whole MOD business, on the bright side at least we get the release of some movies or tv shows that otherwise would never see the light of day.

Well, I decided to pre-order Prince of Darkness. Never saw it before, but if it's got Donald Pleasance as the lead I'm good with it.

And I've said it before and I'll say it again, these custom artworks really do make me want to buy them even more than I would. I saw the original poster and it wasn't very appealing. I'm still torn between getting The Howling or not. I mean, that artwork is completely badass, but I have to keep reminding myself how mediocre the film was.

The funny thing was I was actually really looking forward to watching it. Not so much that I had unrealistic expectations, but after watching it I felt it could have been better.

The problem though with some of these MOD releases is that, they've already had a DVD release and now apparently being discontinued (?) and only being manufactured on demand. Well, why not do that with blu-ray? Instead manufacture them on demand for DVD, why not just put some work in and get the best transfer possible then do as they do now, if someone wants a copy press it and package it. DVD needs to just die already.

Is Scream Factory releasing Beneath?
Its without a doubt the best Chiller film ever made (if only because they didn't actually "make" it).

I'd love it.

Seems like it would be a future Scream Factory title.

Just bought a good lot of Scream blu-rays. Ordered Day of the Dead and preordered Psycho II (never seen it, big fan of the original) from Amazon. And going on the recommendation from others on this thread, ordered these 4 from Best Buy: Halloween II, Lifeforce, The Burning, and The Howling. Hope they all comes with slips and in good condition if so.
I'm definitely looking forward to picking up Assault on Precinct 13 (never seen it but it's Carpenter) and Night of the Demons. I'm also interested in Cat People and Night of the Comet. Can anyone who's seen them give me a good idea of what they're like?

Could the original CREEPSHOW become a future Shout title? I know the film was distributed by Warner theatrically in the U.S. but it was produced by the same group that made KNIGHTRIDERS and DAY OF THE DEAD (Laurel Entertainment) 2 films licensed by Shout. Maybe this was common knowledge but I just figured it out after seeing a clip of Romero on the set of Creepshow while watching the doc on DoTD.. Maybe Shout is still working out the details with Warner but I think it's a definite possibility.

Picked up tons of Scream Factory titles yesterday:
Day of the Dead
Scanners2/3
Prince of Darkness
Psycho 2/3
Dark Angel
X-Ray/Schizo

Watched Day of the Dead and Prince of Darkness last night and I thought both looked great. Prince is a bit better in the picture area than Day, but I don't think I've ever seen Day look so good.

Sean Clark's Horror's Hollowed Grounds episode on Prince of Darkness is one of his best. The ending is hilarious. He's just getting better and better at making them.

Day of the Dead also has a look at the shooting location, however, it's got to be one of the worst special features I've ever seen. It's hosted by some dude named Ed Demko and directed, shot, produced and edited by Scott Jared Goldberg. Not only is Ed a terribly boring host, but every location he takes us to is completely out of focus! He'll stand right in front of one of the locations talking about it, but we never get to see it in focus.
Did anyone else find this special feature to be extremly infuriating?

I really hope Scream never let's Ed or Scott ever do a location video again. They really should invest in Sean Clark doing a Horrors Hallowed Ground for every release. Sometimes I'll watch them before I even watch the movie.

By the way I FCUKING hate (!!!) those nothing stickers Wal-Mart always has on their slipcovers like the one seen on that copy of "Day of the Dead" up in the top right corner. It's the only kind of sticker that is impossible to remove without ruining the slipcover. Most other stickers peel off very easily, but not these ones.

I checked out the filming locations featurette and yes, I was very frustrated watching it! It should have been a voice over IMO.
