Yes, and they are supposedly going to upgrade all of their DVD titles to Blu-Ray over the course of the next year or so.

I haven't watched it in years (haven't even opened my SF copy yet ), but I remember enjoying it. It kinda sorta reminded of Invasion of the Body Snatchers if that helps at all.

Not gonna help you in the US. Image has the rights to The Stuff (they released it on DVD, in fullscreen, last year). Shout/Scream's not gonna get the rights to it any time soon.

I wouldn't necessarily put money on it, but I'd be happy if Arrow released it on Blu.

Bought TVL and Lifeforce for today's deal. Both are a blind buy, but I wasn't disappointed with my other SF blind buys.

Does anyone know who has the rights to Roger Corman's The Undead (1957)?

Probably some odd ball company. I remember the MST3k episode though, it was pretty good.

American International Pictures (AIP) once distributed it, who knows if they're even a company still.

Well I almost blind-bought it last night, but didn't and thanks to a miracle, the "Scream Factory" Halloween sale has put it up for sale the very next day for $15.99 straight up, unlike Amazon's $22 and some change price.

Needless to say I got while the gettin' was good, but it was still a blind-buy. I like the whole 'vampires in space' idea, seems cool, but it doesn't really come off that way in the trailer if you ask me. And most of all I like Tobe Hooper.

But, honestly what are some of your takes on the flick for those of you who already own it? As far as space/futuristic flicks go, I enjoy "Alien", "Aliens", "Blade Runner", "Oblivion", "Moon", "Total Recall" and a few others, but 'space films' are generally not what I'm into, I'm no "Star Trek" or "Star Wars" fan. As far as vampire films go, I like "Near Dark", "John Carpenter's Vampires", "Interview with a Vampire", "Bram Stoker's Dracula", and I hate all things "Twilight."

So, essentially how does this film measure up? Will I enjoy it? How cool are the vampires? How are the space aspects? And where would you say it sits in the cannon of "Scream's" previous collector's edition titles, all of which I own and love, but this film.
You need to check out Event Horizon, Pandorum, and Sunshine asap for some great classic sci-fi/horror. Maybe even James Cameron's The Abyss for a good sci-fi underwater epic. Hopefully it will be coming to blu in 2014.

I'm not a "Trekkie" either, but Star Trek 2009 & 2013 were excellent. Planning to buy both when I get a little extra cash. Despite it's flaws, I also enjoyed Prometheus. Have yet to see Oblivion.

I have "Event Horizon" readily available, I can watch it anytime I just haven't found time yet. I've always heard a few things here and there about "The Abyss", that's another I've never seen, but I really should.

I tried with all my might and love for Ridley Scott to like "Prometheus", I even splurged for the 4 or 5 disc set just to watch the 3 hour documentary, but as much as I watched I was always faced with the same conclusion. A few cool things and ideas here and there, but overall, it sucks, but I think I like it more than "Alien: Resurrection" maybe? It's been awhile since I sat through that one.

On the other hand, I love and highly recommend "Oblivion."

Pretty sure The Stuff DVD was widescreen. [link]

Wasn't crazy about that movie.

I had the old Anchor Bay disc, which not only was widescreen, but had director audio commentary. Shoulda never sold it off now that it's selling for $35 new from third parties on Amazon. It just didn't amaze me or blow my mind enough to hold onto. It's very worthy of a viewing, it's a fun little movie, but I didn't find much reply value in it.

Here's what I got so far:
Alien
Basket Case
Grindhouse fake trailers
C.h.u.d.
Evil Dead 2
Demon Knight
John Dies at the End
Rocky Horror
The original and withdrawn trailer for THE EXORCIST is quite scary - especially when watched on a big screen with LOUD sound (I know a guy who has one of the rare surviving 35mm copies of it).

Something's off about the characters and their motivations, but its really just the tension and suspense radiating off the screen. The "digging around" is much more than that. Its foreshadowing. Everything has added meaning and multiple purposes. Its not what it seems. It's literally "a funhouse". Everything going on seems like nonsense and randomness, but its FAR from it.

The freakshow animals, the test tube baby, all of that is directly a representation of the kids and their parent, the kids including the monster and the parents including the carnival workers and the monster's father, the barker.

And then there's the disfunctional family that features seemingly absent parents, a misguided brother, uptight sister who isn't really bothered when her family parades in to see her breasts.

And there's so much more that almost unconciously sets in the more you watch it.
Initially it feels unreal, but the more you see it the more you get it.

I completely stand by my statement that its a cult classic, and I think quite a few others would agree.
This is something else...

I haven't ordered from Shout since they changed their checkout process. Does anyone get shipping confirmation emails? Shout used to be at least in my experience, inconsistent in sending them out. Sometimes I got them, sometimes I didn't.

Whoever that someone is, it is untrue as they have said *NO* countless times. The rumor is Twilight Time could release it. Only a rumor. I think many of us would like Scream to release it.

Yeah, can't say that I've heard that especially since it has been denied in the past. Would be a welcome addition though

would anybody know if there's any chance of BLACK CHRISTMAS being released by Scream?

Every dvd and blu-ray have looked like crapola and I would love to see this get a good transfer for once....
