Getting "Sleepaway Camp" only makes me wish they were putting out part 2 as well. While the first is no doubt classic, part 2 is one hell of a fun slasher. I loved seeing the VHS artwork in Blockbuster as a kid with the Freddy glove and Jason mask, that sparked my interest big time as a kid.
Tried to watch part 3, but I could never get through it, just didn't have that magic the first two had in my opinion. Then what they tried a part 4 and abandoned it? If I'm correct. Never bothered to see the newest one they did. |

I was 12 when I saw it at Blockbuster, and I thought "what kind of ripoff amateur hour BS is this?" and never watched the sequels. Now I'm reading post after post about how enjoyable the sequels are, so now I'm hoping they get a Blu release as well.

I like to think part 2 is really up there as a good sequel, can't say the same for the rest of the series though.

Looks like they said on Facebook they are not getting 2 and 3. This is hugely dissappointing as I have the excellent trilogy box set and would prefer to replace that, especially part 3 as it was heavily cut. Its still exciting news that we are getting part 1 but it feels like an inomplete release. It's dissapointing that I have so many incomplete series on Blu-ray. Someone needs to release Phantasm, Jaws 2, ect.!
And I agree as awesome as Sleepaway Camp is, Synapse made the announcement I was waiting for. Suspiia is HUGE! Synapse has been killing it lately. With Prom Night, Curtains, Tenebre, Phenomena and now Suspiria, Synapse is definitely the label to beat for 2014. It's great because they actually do the film transfers for all of their films! Scream needs to step it up for 2014 and turning this announcement into a trilogy would be a good start! |

Scream/Shout is great but they are no Synapse. Synapse would never allow some of the transfers that Scream were stuck with out of their offices (or into them for that matter) And Night of The Demons is a lot of fun but will never even be able to touch the cinematic mastery of Suspiria. Oh, and Grindhouse is better than Scream/Shout too. |

It would be so cool. Plus I must say that I really love the director's early australian works (so I won't be against a blu-ray release for another of his awesome feature: Metal Skin) |

Yeah, they've been doing good and with some of the titles they've picked up can only get better. Hopefully they can start producing some more of their own transfers (at least for their Universal titles) once they start to turn more of a profit off these releases. |

Like X-Ray and Phantasm II. And they've done new ones of pre-existing HD tranfers, like The Fog. But in all seriousness, they don't always deliver the best P/Q and A/Q possible, like with the upcoming Night of the Comet. It looks great, but it could be better. Its not bad by any means, but not perfect. I find most of their releases look better than any DVD, and satisfy me most of the time. But they could look better, whereas Synapse blows me away almost every time. All of that being said. Scream is definitely one of the best companies in the biz right now. |

I just wrote my review up for "Night of the Comet" and was impressed with the whole package. That said, I did feel there was an aura of softness to the transfer. Not deal-breaking by any means, it just had a softer look than expected. Skin tones look good, especially in close-ups and colors pop really nicely like Catherine Mary Stewart's turquoise jacket and Kelli Maroney's cheerleader outfit. In addition, while very minor specks are seen on the transfer, I can't help but feel like this is one of the cleaner looking transfers from Scream.
