I am pretty sure 3&4 will get a double from Mill Creek when Anaconda Vs. Lake. Placid comes out.

Well i think Lake Placid is way better then Anaconda...but the sequels...now were getting into tied for crappy sequels area....Anaconda Sequels vs Lake Placid Sequels.....eeeekkk....which is worse?

Cecil (SF put his movie poster video on their FB page) gets me. And my feelings on Fly II. He has also done I Come in Peace, Halloween 3, Incredible Melting Man, Night of the Comet, Ninja 3, Phantasm, and coming next week... They Live.

I doubt they forgot about Shock Treatment, picking up Phantom. I mean, both have Jessica Harper.

At least Anaconda 2 got a theatrical release. And 3 had the Hoff.

Anyone notice how they went back to the non-glossy/slick feeling slipcover feel for "Cat People" as well? Wondering if they were just experimenting with it for "Body Bags" and "Night of the Comet"?

I actually though Anaconda 2 was pretty decent, with a much bigger production value than I was expecting (unlike the awful sequels that would come out after).

I'll take the first two Anaconda movies over Lake Placid any day. I actually consider them to be pretty much the best two giant snake movies out there (not that that is very difficult).

While on the alligator side, I can't say the same for Lake Placid since I much prefer Rogue and Alligator over it (which I still like, mind you, it just cannot compete with those other two, imo).

Rogue is still the king of giant alligator movies for me, hands down.

I'm a completisit anyway, so this release is a bonus in that it will sway me to buy Lake Placid 2 on blu-ray, which I must admit is just horribly fun. Its so f'kn bad, but god I love it. Never seen three or four, but I'm sure someone will put them out when Abbot and Costello meet Anacondas at Lake Place comes out.

And can I ask, how does "snake vs lake" make any sense?
It'd be like saying Elm Street vs Jason...

Why did Fox put the DTV sequel out two years before they would license the original to another company to release?

I wasn't overly impressed with Lake Placid when I watched it a few years ago, but I'll rewatch it before I rule out getting SF's blu-ray.

Regarding the Lake Placid announcement, I can't help but think of it as a public apology for not being able to secure the rights to Alligator. While I appreciate the thought, I'm afraid I'm not biting on this one.

I'm happy for everyone that is looking forward to Lake Placid. I know it is a great feeling to read your favorite movie is bring released. Still waiting for one of my top ten to be released by someone. I still hope Scream gets The Final Terror. I really am hoping that since Hellhole was announced, that The Final Terror won't be far behind.
