**NEW TITLE ANNOUNCEMENT!**

Several internet leaks today have reported the following title announcement before we could (which caught us off guard) but, nonetheless, we are very happy to report that we will be releasing the 2012 zombie film THE BATTERY later on the this year!

This dark comedy has been receiving rave reviews from many reputable horror outlets and fans and we're glad we could work out a deal with the filmmakers to bring it to the DVD & Blu-ray formats.

No other details to report at this time (artwork, street date, extras, etc) but we'll keep you posted when we have them.

Consistency problem solved.
why wouldnt you sell these things. some are worth big bucks.

also, it wouldnt be perfectly consistent unless you custom cased everything since there more than 1 type of case, just sayin.

By the way, anyone know the next "Collector's Edition" to have a "Horror's Hallowed Grounds"? For some reason I thought "Night of the Demons" might have one, but nope.
To his defense he is missing 3 titles Witchboard, Scanners double, beast of hollow mountain and Neanderthal Man double. I buy all their scream titles because I like to try and help support them and hope it helps bring new titles.

Never heard of it... That's the case with all of their modern titles.

Liking the swift to current titles, to mix things up a bit.

I love it. The Battery was one of my favorite recent deep-cut discoveries.

It's also been championed by many horror news outlets, including Fangoria/FearNet and the Killer POV podcast. I'd even go so far as to say it's already a cult classic, in that there is a pretty big undergound-ish following for it.

Yeah it's newer and indie. But this one is actually GOOD! Not "good for a newer film" just plain f'kin GOOD. It's low budget but uses its money wisely and it's definitely gonna have a home on my shelf. This is a big deal. Lol.

The battery will be e first modern scream title that I will pick up. Reviews are good and the premise is interesting. I like that poster too.

I haven't seen Dead Souls, I enjoyed Beneath and The Battery look promising. I will eventually pick up all 3 of these films.

Aside from Amityville (which I'd only want for the second film), I'm not really interested in any of those.

Just locked in my pre-order for Sleepaway Camp with the limited poster!

Even the lower end scream stuff is more entertaining (to me) then 90% of movies released these days. The only scream release I really regret buying is the X-ray schizoid double feature. Those movies are complete bunk.

I gave up trying to buy all the scream titles awhile ago.

I will get the Price set if and when I see and enjoy at least three of the films on the set. I will not do a blind buy of six films I may not like (especially for Shout prices).

As of this point, I have watched about half an hour of Dr. Phibes and was enjoying it. Dont know why I didn't finish it yet... But that is it...

You just aren't seeing the right "newer" movies.

That's not a joke at you, but I'm serious. There is a wealth of very good modern horror films released every year, it just somehow doesn't hit people's radar. I don't know why, as they aren't uber-low budget disasterpieces, but really good quality films in all departments.

I think I should write a cofee table book about how rad movies are these days (just as much as in the past, just slightly more obscure now). Haha.

Yeah. Until I saw Wolf of Wall Street, John Dies at the End was my second favorite film of last year. Here's the top 6 list:
1. Pain & Gain (first Michael Bay movie I liked)
2. The Way Way Back
3. The Wolf of Wall Street
4. Inside Llewyn Davis
5. John Dies at the End
6. The World's End

It's not just movies. All forms of entertainment have tons of great releases every year despite what people say. Stuff from the '80s or '70s benefits from the passage of time, which naturally acts as a filter so that the good stuff inevitably rises to the top.

I've seen all of the movies except The Haunted Palace and enjoyed them, but for me they don't have as much replay value as the '70s/'80s/'90s releases.

I'd consider picking it up if it were $25 or less.

It's a modern movie? Nice job imitating classic 80's B-posters.
(Except that undead-invasions weren't actually that hip back in the 80's, at least not before the Zack Snyder Dawn remake. And the Bush Jr. era.)

I enjoyed those too, Pain and Gain was weird for me, for reasons unrelated to the movie. I liked it though.

But for me, 2013 was the first year I've actually got into independent films. I always thought they just weren't up to par with mainstream movies. Boy was I wrong, I found myself constantly wondering why "this movie" didn't get a wide release. No wonder people think modern films suck, they literally are just not seeing the really really good ones, because there's no universal outlet for them.

Movies are going through a very weird transition right now, particularly with distribution. Most films only receive limited theatrical runs now (unless they are blockbusters), whereas in the 80s they would have payed nationwide. It's so weird. So the audience has to dig deep to find a good one, they exist they're just covered up by bad ones. There aren't more bad than good, it's just so easy to make a movie now, so the viewer is forced to literally judge a film based on it's cover...

That's the end of my rant lol.

Or the names involved... I saw Llewyn Davis because I got into the Coens this past August (only still have to see Miller's Crossing and Paris, je taime). I went to a free preview screening with an Oscar Isaac Q&A afterwards. I saw Way Way Back because I was kicked off of the set at the water park it was filmed/set at. Better than Grown Ups, which was also filmed there. I saw John Dies at the End because I liked Phantasm 1&2. I watched the trailer, which led to my reading of the books, which are both way better than the already great movie. I saw Pacific Rim because I knew that Del toro was a refutable name, despite not having seen any of his movies. I saw World's End because I liked Shaun and loved Hot Fuzz. I saw Machete Kills because I loved From Dusk Till Dawn, Desperado, Planet Terror, and, yes, Machete. I saw Wolf because of good word of mouth and the fact that I enjoyed the only other two Scorcese movies I have seen (Bringing Out the Dead and Hugo).
However, I saw Pain and Gain because I like Marky Mark and The Rock. I was pleasantly surprised.

I see a lot of new horror movies (new movies of every kind). I don't think anyone finds their way to this forum without having a serious love for film. All I was saying is that I personally find these kinds of movies more entertaining then most of what's put out days. I'm not bashing new movies. There are a lot of new movies that I think are great. I just like horror from the late 70s through the 80s best.
