Blu-ray Archduke

I'm considering ordering the Swamp Thing Blu-ray at long last. I know that it's the American release, but that doesn't bother me. I used to enjoy seeing this on HBO back in the day, and, like Cat People and Night of the Comet, it'll be a fun slice of 1980s nostalgia.
What's the good word? For those of you who own this disc, are you happy with it? |

You forgot "handsome".
But anyways, I just bought the German release for The Legend of Hell House, so I hope it's something else. On the other hand, Arrow just announced so many titles I have to have and there are at least a dozen Scream-releases to buy still so maybe it would be better to no even know what else is coming. I was never a fan of Legend of Hell House, There was so much they didn't do from the original source (a novel by Richard Matheson) They didn't show half of the material, and I found that disappointing, HOWEVER before you get raging on me, I do like the film for trying know the year and the budget I can appreciate the effort and pulling off a good story nonetheless, I do hope it gets remade with the missing elements, but i can like it for a little horror gem.

Used up some store credit to bring myself nearly up-to-date on having a complete Scream collection. Only thing I'm now missing is Bad Dreams/Visiting Hours, but the copy of Slumber Party Massacre is a nice consolation
![]() (also missing TV Terrors and the recalled version of Up All Night Volume 1, but I'm not too worried about getting those ![]() As for today, come on Dolls, Leviathan, Rawhead Rex or Scarecrows! |

Maybe if they released better films. I really hope Shout/ Scream doesn't become the next Anchor Bay. They are already started to focus on a lot of DTV and newer films. Last edited by spawningblue; 02-24-2014 at 06:52 PM. |

Some classic TV horror films I would love to see get a Blu-ray release, or maybe a four pack on DVD?
Possible for Shout/ Scream Duel (1971) - Early Spielberg, need I say more? The Midnight Hour (1985) - A highly requested film that takes place on halloween. This needs a re-release, preferably on Blu, as the original DVD sells on eBay in the hundreds. The Haunted (1991) - Based on a case investigated by the Warrens. Scarier than most theatrical films. Winner of Golden Globes and Emmy's. Night Stalker (1972) / Night Strangler (1973) - Dan Curtis, Kolchak. Why have these not been released on Blu yet!? The Woman in Black (1989) - The original, and from what I've heard, much scarier adaptation of this story. Werewolf (1987) - This is the Tv movie that lead to the series of the same name. Shout was supposed to release the series but cancelled it due to music rights. I wonder if they could release the film? Gargoyles (1972) - Not sure if the rights are still with Hen's Tooth, but this could make a great Blu-ray. Early Stan Winston effects! The Strange Case of Dr. Jeckyll & Mr. Hyde (1968) - Early Dan Curtis, Jack Palance. Dracula (1974) - Another Dan Curits/ Jack Palance adaptation. When a Stranger Calls Back (1993) - Sequel to the famous slasher. Some actually prefer this film as it doesn't focus mainly on the killer. Summer of Fear (1978) - Wes Craven, Linda Blair, witchcraft, ect. Norliss Tapes, The (1973) - Early Dan Curtis, similar to Kolchak. Snowbeast (1977) Crowhaven Farm (1970) Don't Go to Sleep (1981) When Michael Calls (1972) Satan's School for Girls (1973) Not Possible for Shout/ Scream Salem's Lot (1979) - Warner It (1990) - Warner Don't Be Afraid of the Dark (1973) - Warner Trilogy of Terror (1975) - Dark Sky? Trilogy of Terror 2 (1996) - Paramount Something Evil (1972) - Paramount Dead of Night (1977) - Dark Sky Count Dracula (1977) - Warner? Frankenstein: The True Story (1973) - Dark Sky? Home for the Holidays (1972) - Lion's Gate Bad Ronald (1974) - Warner House That Would Not Die (1970) - Paramount Here's some great articles covering many of these. These show there are lots of great TV horror titles, and Shout/ Scream need to release some of these before stating TV horror films don't sell! http://www.chillertv.com/friday13/13...-horror-movies http://bloody-disgusting.com/news/13...s-of-all-time/ http://www.ahauntingonthescreen.com/...-films-of.html Last edited by spawningblue; 02-24-2014 at 06:58 PM. |

I would also like to see Crawlspace (2012) get released here, it came out briefly in Europe, but has since gone out of print.

Well, it looks like there will be no more Universal titles this year. Bummer.
Someone on Scream Factory's Facebook page said - "fingers crossed for some more universal stuff" And Scream Factory replied - "We'll give you a (rather unfortunate) hint here. There are no more Universal titles planned for 2014 so that will take out some favorites that we had been trying for. We'll still keep trying though." MGM? Are you knocking? |
