Watch the movie actually be in the hands of the people at Dr. Pepper, given the insane amounts of product placement Corman did.

If I remember correctly some Scream guys were on a podcast last year (probably late summer). They mentioned that they could have had the rights but they felt the HD master MGM currently wasn't up to par. They wanted to do a whole new scan but MGM didn't want anyone touching the negative because it was in bad shape.

I could be getting it wrong, but I think it was something along those lines.

Thanks for answering! That's too bad I'd love to see them release that, or just a good release for that film period.

YES! Got Swamp Thing in the mail today

Now I just need to get The Burning, Night of the Comet, Body Bags, The Vincent Price Collection Night of the Demons and Witchboard and I'll be happy...just waiting for Amazon.ca to have a decent price drop on these...I wish Scream/Shout titles were more readily available in Canada, well my part of Canada anyways.

So what movie would be the biggest surprise ? Ill go with what Ive read
Godzilla 85
Without Warning
Fright Night II
Pumpkinhead
Rawhead Rex
-- or could it be something commonly known as *other* !
as much as I want Without Warning, only Godzilla 1985 takes precedent as a priority...and would be the biggest shocker SF could release

I would discount Pumpkinhead. It is a big title, yes. But a shocker? Not really. There's nothing that has been standing in the way of it being released before.

Rex is considerably less likely, considering that the other Barker title was revealed to be Lord of Illusions.

All my scream/shout titles have been about a week late, it seems like amazon is not getting it's full allotment all at once.

The biggest shocker for me would be Without Warning. If Scream Factory release The Final Terror and Without Warning this Summer, it will make my year!

I would add Phantasm to that list. That would be a huge pick up, and highly requested.

I don't know if there's a Sunrise Records near you but I've been finding they are usually cheaper than amazon but only for the first few weeks before they bump the price up.

oh stop rationalizing !

Remember all the times they said no to Pumpkinhead and who knows maybe they could be working a deal for Rex...

Phantasm would also be a surprise

I never said they don't have Pumpkinhead, as they probably do. I just don't think it's the surprise. Why? Because there is no challenge in acquiring it, like There is in Without Warning, Phantasm, Rawhead Rex, Godzilla 1985, etc.

A 40th anniversary "Collector's Edition" for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre would make sense for a big August surprise. I think there's even a never before released Horror's Hallowed Grounds featurette for it.

I don't talk much here about horror movies, but I am a very huge fan of the genre, and since I see many of you guys throwing out wishlist requests, I thought I'd add to it with two favorites of mine that I'd love to see a company like Scream Factory pickup:
Alice Sweet Alice (aka Communion) (1976) and George Romero's Martin (1978)

Any fans of these two films out there?

I want both, but I don't see either happening in the near future. Alice, Sweet Alice is rumored to be over at Warner Brothers, now. Martin is OOP again on DVD, so the rights may have reverted back to Richard P. Rubenstein. At this point, I'm guessing whoever licenses Dawn of the Dead will also license Martin and, hopefully, The Night Flier.

Does anyone know when Scream Factory will make the "surprise" announcement about the summer release? I'm dying to know whether Fright Night II will be announced.

I'd be surprised if we didn't get both of them over the next few weeks or so.

I was just clowning around
I thought it could be a surprise since they said no so many times like they did with Motel Hell. The other titles would be bigger surprises..
