I am glad that Twilight Time picks up these titles that Sony doesn't want to release, because at the very least we can get them on Blu-ray. I haven't had any issues getting the TT releases I wanted (Fright Night, NOTLD, Christine, etc.), but I think their popularity has grown recently because of these releases (especially Fright Night, since it sold out before scalpers really started to notice TT's business model) and scalpers have jumped onto the bandwagon and forced other titles to sell out much quicker (NOTLD and Christine). I see The Blob selling out just as fast as Christine, if not faster. If they do get Pumpkinhead, I believe it'll be the same situation. The 3000 model is not a bad model for a niche label to have. Synapse has 3000 copies for Demons 1 and 2, and neither have sold out yet. Of course, the price is higher, but it's a slightly different situation. Scalpers have jumped onto TT's bandwagon because of Fright Night and their 3 year window. Synapse, on the other hand, has never said that the 3000 limit on Demons would be it. They just said that that's all of the steelbooks that would be released for it.

It's not their concern if everyone didn't get one. They aren't in the business of supplying the world. I'd say their business model is the opposite of incompetent considering.
Either around the release of NOTLD or Christine, TT mentioned that they needed these horror titles that sell out quickly because it allows them to release the other titles that don't (the titles they are really interested in releasing). If I recall correctly, I believe it was mentioned on their Facebook page that they aren't exactly horror fans, and don't consider these films with as high of praise as the fans do. They just consider these titles as moneymakers. So yeah, if the fans miss out, tough. They sold out and that's all that mattered.

I would prefer if Scream Factory got Pumpkinhead because I believe they would include it in their collector's edition lineup, give it some great new features, and do their best to make it a special and definitive release. They would understand what the fans want and deliver accordingly.

There is a campaign to get Warner to release their Hammer films on Blu-ray, and it's hanging at just a little over 2000 signatures at the moment. They are looking to get 10000 signatures by the end of April. I'm no expert, but if they don't get more than 3000 signatures, doesn't that kind of back-up Twilight Time's business model?

Indeed it does, and that is fine with me since I would love to at the very least get Horror of Dracula and Dracula A.D. 72 on Blu-ray.

Not everyone who would buy them knows about the petition.

Does anyone have a Tumblr account? I'm going to have my wife put this poll up on hers since she has a lot of followers/friends on there. Spread it around Facebook, Tumblr and Twitter if you can.

Thank you. And to the rest that had a go at me, maybe wishing for them to go down wasn't exactly the classiest comment i've ever made, but you understand the frustration? I'm glad these films are getting somewhat of a release, but their way of business negates that for me.

I don't think they should go down but I definitely agree with your frustration. I really would have liked to have snagged Christine but I didn't hear about it until it was too late. If they are the ones that are going to release Pumpkinhead, I'm going to be checking their site every day.

Not necessarily. There are a lot of people out there that does not follow this forum or any other Blu ray forums and are unaware of this petition. With that being said, they would buy those Hammer films if they become available on Blu.

Now Sony, that's another story, but who really knows. They could have released the movie themselves and be sitting on a warehouse of 32,000 copies of FN. That hardly sounds great.
Yeah but you don't know that. You could say the same about almost every other catelogue film released by most small distributors. And it is their fault that not everyone got one beacause a) they are the ones who decided to limit it to 3000 in the first place, and b) they didn't even cap the amount an individual could order. But it's fine, i'll wait for Christine and Fright Night released by another company rather than complain about it.

Even though it's region A restricted from Scream, i'm counting my lucky stars that Twilight Time didn't get Ginger Snaps.

I'd check it every few hours, mate. Half the people that order this Pumpkinhead are going to sell it for profit, trust me. I honestly hope you get your film because some bugger is going to try and deprive it from you.

Yeah, I can live without Christine and Fright Night on Blu-ray but Pumpkinhead was always a favorite of mine. I'll be pissed if I can't pre-order it in time.

Awareness is a key - I love it when a horror fan asks Scream Factory
"Please release Prom Night and Curtains"
We as part of forums and social networking already know who is releasing them. It does make me wonder how a horror fan wouldnt know *things* these days with all the information online

From his perspective, this company is standing directly in the way of him getting his hands on the movie he wants at a reasonable price point. I mean, I'm very frustrated because I missed out on Christine and Fright Night because of their business model, but I have so much other content I want to get my hands on that I can live without those movies for a few years. For him, maybe those movies he missed out on are personal favorites. I'm not saying you're wrong in saying it can be seen as a poor attitude, I'm just saying I can see where he's coming from, and with regard to Twilight Time, I think his hatred for their business should be respected, even if you disagree.

It'll be announced well before the pre-order goes live. The Blob '88 was announced well over a year ago and won't be up for pre-order until September.

It's been a year since TTs last major horror title (Christine). That's not exactly the kind of output that is going to keep a company on the general publics radar. The only people who care are 1. Here and 2. Scalpers. Combine that with buying limits and there should be a certain amount of time where anyone who wants one can get one.

While I agree with the other posters that say that more people are aware of TT then a year ago or 2 years ago I still think that most of those people will not stay on top of when exactly to place a preorder. If it's a title that you love then I sure you will. I don't know if TT will ever reach he point of having titles sell out in under a hour. If they do then I would give up on buying any of their titles.

CHRISTINE had a limit right from the start, albeit a high limit of 10, which was then reduced to 2 per customer after about 1,000 were sold. FRIGHT NIGHT had no limit and took 5 weeks to sell out, but that was the first title to show what could happen in the aftermarket. SAE puts a limit on pretty much every genre-related title now. Even the two Sinbad films had a 2 per customer limit right from the start. I am sure THE BLOB will have a 2 per limit from the start as well, maybe even a 1 per customer limit.

They really need to have it as a 1 per customer limit. Yes there is the chance someone could buy an extra copy for a friend or family member but chances are, if someone is buying more than one they're going to sell it on Ebay.

I don't like Twilight Time either.

I have yet to get a single title I wanted, and of the rest that haven't Sold Out yet, there are only a handfull that peak my intrest, but not enough for me to spend as much as they are asking for. A vast majority of their releases just flat out are not worth the price.

I 100% agree with this. Granted I bought two copies of Christine. One for me and one for my friend (working when it went live).
It would make it so much hard for scalpers if they limited to 1 per address as well.
