Speaking of disappointment in II, I found II to be a bit jumbled. Like, it kept jumping about and it wasn't sure where it wanted to go.

that was one of my gripes... it was almost incomprehensible... as if the director was either eccentric or on something....

I like the first 3 Hellraisers and while i don't hate some of the one that follow 1-3 will always be my favouites. Got the graphic novel to hell on earth as well.

I haven't seen Pumpkinhead in years, but I remember it being a solid flick. Stan Winston's creature effects are the main selling point, but the movie also teaches some important lessons about revenge and forgiveness.

I'm not sure if I would spring for a Blu-ray or not, but I wouldn't mind seeing the movie again.

Different strokes for different folks.

For me, it's all about the creature, the pathos and the cinematography. I can look past some of the character weaknesses, though I don't really find them all that bothersome.

Yep. I'm fine sticking with Near Dark when it comes to Henriksen movies.

Hellraiser 1-4 Are all solid films that are worthy of every Horror fans collection. The back story (history) stuff in Bloodline was interesting and pretty well done. The straight to video sequels 5, 7, & 8 were all ideas for other films that were kicked around Dimension that ended up having Pinhead added to them so they could make a cheap buck under the Hellraiser moniker. Part 6 was an original Hellraiser idea that was doomed to straight to video hell and given no budget. Part 9 was made solely so that Dimension wouldn't lose the Hellraiser license as they hash out the details of a reboot. (Which last I heard may have Clive Barker back on board).

I love the first Hellraiser of course, I also rather enjoyed 3.

2... I dunno. It's been a long time now so my memory is fuzzy, but I just remember being kinda bored and confused.

I never saw 4 onwards.

Just like some folks don't get the love you profess for some films. Thankfully we all have our own opinions. Frankly I don't care who likes/dislikes films I enjoy, as it doesn't matter to me one iota.

Benedict Cumberbatch could play Pinhead in the reboot.

One mans trash is another mans treasure. People are going to like what they like even if they are the only fan, they will defend it to the end. I mean, some people actually think Ginger Snaps is a good movie....(

That's nothing. My local Fox newscaster went off for five minutes about Gymkata early last year.
