I love them all too with the exception of the next generation though i havn't seen that one in years. Part 3 is proper underrated imo. As for TC3D, i love it, timeline aside i don't think there is much wrong with it, it moves at a fast clip, is gory and doesn't take it self to seriously and ofcourse Alexandra Daddario

Ahh, I can believe that about Amazon. I'll be happy when they show up.

Phantasm II looks good on Blu from what I can tell. The review on here gave it average ratings. I don't think an upscaled DVD would have such fine textures in close up shots. It is a classic movie, I still want to buy it.

I have other late '80s horror (NOES 3: Dream Warriors, Night of the Demons) and I think it was the film stock they used. Very drab, muted, and grainy. Not as grainy as early '80s, though. It's not a bad thing, I love the character grain gives to a film.

Lionsgate did a great job on Mimic, maybe they will surprise us. Perhaps an Unrated Director's Cut as well, since they release movies unrated.

Either way the Phantasm II blu-ray doesn't look better than the DVD and if so it is very marginal.

To each their own...I don't want another Blu vs DVD debate. I don't want to be labelled a "fanboy".

I Need help, I'm compiling the lists for Shout and Scream on IMDb (as someone suggested I keep track of all requests, even if their not on the list, so I can add them later if a new development happens, like if Scream gets Warner to sublicense to them, or if a Movie gets over 1000 votes on IMDb) I moved anything not with the horror genre to Shout, but I'm feeling like something is wrong, I feel like they are some titles here, that regardless of not having a horror tag, are more Scream Titles than Shout. I need you help to see if everything is alright or if I did indeed have some Scream titles in the Shout List. This is for Wishlist so yes Impossible films are in the list, I have a formula and the Real List will be coming soon, But if these titles are in the wrong list than It messes everything up, Please help and thanks for reading.

I do agree with the assessments that the level of detail seems to be roughly on par with the UK Anchor Bay DVD, which appears to have been sourced from an alternate master based on the framing inconsistencies. IMO, preference of the Scream Factory Blu-Ray over Anchor Bay DVD or vice versa is ultimately decided based on one's tolerance for PAL speedup and their personal preferences with regards to color timing and framing. The Anchor Bay DVD is PAL-formatted, so it plays back at 25 FPS instead of 24 FPS. It has cooler color timing, and seems to gain information on the bottom and left sides of the screen, but loses a bit on the top and right sides. The Scream Factory disc plays back at 24 FPS, has warmer colors and seems to lose a bit on the bottom and left, but gains a bit on the top and right. For what it's worth, the Scream Factory release is Don Coscarelli-approved, and he was involved in the color correction.

The contrast boosting on the Scream Factory Blu-Ray is, as far as I can tell, limited to one roughly 15 second sequence where Reggie is torching the embalming room. I suspect this change may have been done to brighten up the gate room in the background as it seems to be sort of a drab grey in the previous DVD rather than a bright white as on the Blu-Ray, but that's just speculation on my part.

So which titles are better with Scream then Shout?
Are you checking the genres listed towards the middle of the screen under Storyline. IMDB only lists the first three genres at the top but may list more than three in the middle. Some of those films are definitely flagged as horror in IMDB, but if it's not one of the first three genre, it won't show up as horror at the top.

Yea I tend to do that, I was faster then scrolling to the bottom, in retrospect I should have, but do you see any titles that should be in Scream, or is it ok, also can you ask me what is standing on New Line, Columbia Pictures and Columbia TriStar Titles? not possible or possible?

The only negative for me is not having the original on Blu to sit next to it.

Shout Factory is giving free shipping on all orders for the rest of the month!

Maybe I should have pre-ordered Ginger Snaps while could.

Its with Universal and if they did it would not be this year as they aren't doing deals with them in 2014.

It's an obvious upconvert
. Open the Scream! screen cap of Reggie in a separate window full sized, and the UK dvd screen cap in a separate window full sized. To specifically compare the sunglasses, the reflection on it, Reggie's skin/pores and his hair, it is obvious to those who aren't Scream! disciples that it is an upconvert. There is no greater detail. The contrast boosting is most obvious with the screen comparison with the Morgue shot. Look at the transport room and the fire on the right (I will agree with Zbinks that it seems [after watching it] that the Morgue scene has the most obvious contrast boosting.. at least to the degree of being SUSPIRIAish distracting).

The Scream! blu has better color timing and maybe a bit of DNR, but there is no greater detail other than it simply has better compression and DNR to clean the image up a bit.

Sheesh.. you guys.
