Did they mention anything about extra footage for Final Terror? Vestron was notorious for making small trims to films back in those days, plus I have read about a longer sequence with the two bikers in the beginning. Maybe those theatrical prints have revealed some extra padding. Not that a longer film would be better but it would be interesting to look at any deleted footage.

I don't know, man. Night and day difference between the BD and VHS? That doesn't exactly sound like a vote of confidence...

IMDb lists this under 'alternate versions' for Final Terror:

Quote:
An alternate version titled "The Creeper" includes some alternate footage and extended scenes not found in the regular "Final Terror" version. This version was never released in the US
The recent press release detailing the special features doesn't indicate that the BD will contain any deleted/alternate footage.

Maybe a new 2K transfer CE of Tales from the Hood would be nice if they surprise us with an announcement at ComicCon next month and that is one of my ideal CE as is Company of Wolves.

Nice to see them do Tales from The Crypt and uncut Vault of Horror on BD and hope it has extras this time.

Again, no Tales From the Hood... They have said they aren't release any Universal titles for the rest of this year.

And they haven't even said if they'd be at ComiCon this year, yet.

Huh...I thought for sure they would release Village of the Damned this year...seems lke a no brainer to get the Carpenter titles wrapped up.

I really wish that Scream Factory would release Frogs (1972).

It's such a fun movie, and film noir veteran Ray Milland is a trip. I used to see this movie on cable television quite a lot during my childhood.

This film might be better suited for a studio like Scorpion Releasing, but Scream could do a fine job with it.

There was a television station where I grew up that used to have a creepy crawley week during the summer. Each night, Monday through Friday from 8pm to 10pm, they would play one bugs or animals run amok movie, and Frogs was always in the rotation, along with Ben, Willard, and some others. I loved watching these films growing up during this special promotion week, which was usually in mid-June. So I'd be all for Frogs getting a BD release.

I don't blame them; some of the Universal stuff has been pretty poor PQ-wise.

To say Sleepaway Camp looks as good as Prince of Darkness is an insult to Sleepaway Camp. Prince of Darkness used a typical Universal transfer, meaning it has lots of edge enhancement and sharpening. There is another Blu-ray of Prince of Darkness that looks a bit more natural.

I got the impression from the podcast that they'll probably be there, but might not have a panel.

I don't either. Frankly, people need to stop b!tching and be glad that these titles are coming at all. And guess what? If the big studios (Fox, Universal) were putting out the poor quality titles, they would be just as bad, if not worse, and bare bones.

Examples? Darkman.

This might be true of Some Universal titles, but Demon Knight and Bordello of Blood both have HD transfers available online. I haven't watched Bordello of Blood Yet, but Demon Knight looked quite good with the exception of the Universal Logo (Which is the older 90's version) and the Crypt Keeper segments which are quite dirty and appear very soft. The film itself is more than acceptable for a Blu ray release however, as undoubtedly a true 1080p Blu Ray release would look even better and would stand up better then many of Scream's other releases. Can it look better? Definitely, but as it is it's still a worthy addition in it's current form.

The real question for me is what supplements would Scream add? It'd be great to get Billy Zane, William Sadler and Dennis Leary for the obvious commentaries, we'd get the requisite trailers for each film, but what else is there? I'd love some behind the scenes goodies with the crypt keeper, or deleted scenes or anything really, but I'm uncertain what would even exist. Has Demon Knight or Bordello of Blood ever had anything worthwhile for special features? It could/would prove a challenge, but very interesting if Scream were able to secure the films and round up a robust set of extras. I'd love for each film to get it's own Collectors edition release, but the expected Double Feature would still be a welcome addition.

Dennis Leary? Do you mean Dennis Miller?

Also, I can see Demon Knight as a standalone CE, but can only see Bordello of Blood in a double. Again, with one more Miramax title at play, maybe a trilogy set is in the cards. Cutting Cards, perhaps?

For extras, Demon Knight could have something with Tom Holland, as he wrote it. A documentary on adapting the series for film? Notes about the two films that were never made: Dead Easy & Body Count.

I think Demon Knight would be a good fit with SF if they get any more Universal titles in the future. I always thought B.O.B. was boring, especially when compared to the much better, From Dusk Till Dawn which I think was released around the same time in 1996.

I watched them back to back and liked both, but Demon Knight was better. In fact, I watched them both for the first time a week before getting this account, hence the name.

Demon Knight is quite possibly the best horror movie to come out of the 90's in my opinion. Scream should definitely go after it and Bordello of Blood in 2015 for a double feature. While Bordello of Blood wasn't as good as Demon Knight, it was still highly entertaining and at times pretty damn funny. I'd love to hear what Billy Zane, William Sadler, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Thomas Haden Church, Dennis Miller, Angie Everhart, Erika Eleniak, Chris Sarandon, Corey Feldman, etc have to say about these movies in 2015.

Agreed.

I saw both theatrically, and remember not liking BOB very much. But then I saw it about 1-2 years ago on cable, and enjoyed it much more. Maybe being older helped me "get it" more than I did back in 1996.
