If they can't get much in the way of special features, they would make a nice double feature.

Quick question maybe some you knowledgable horror fans can help me with:

I was about 10 or 11, so this would've been '81 or '82 and while in the BX on Ramstein AFB they had a video showing of some guy that would capture people and turn them into mannequins. I vividly remember one scene where he had a girl tied up and was slowly spreading the plaster around here face, obviously saving her nose for last. Basically you could see her suffocate. I'll never forget that scene, as it gave me nightmares for a LOOOONG time.
I'm assuming the movie must have been released in '80 or '81. Any ideas?
Sorry if that brief description was so vague.
I tell you the A/V department in that BX would show everything on video.

That would be "Tourist Trap" 1979 starring Chuck Connors.

Wow!! I don't know whether to call you guys: Good, Scary, or just Scary Good!! Thanks so much for the quick responses!
That's the one! Talk about a stroll down memory lane!
Now does that seem like a good movie to be showing on a display TV?
Thanks for posting the scene...looks like it will be nightmares for me tonight!

Edit: So would this be a good candidate for a Scream release? I would definitely buy just to overcome my childhood fears!

TOURIST TRAP is a great movie. Controlled by Full Moon, though. They're revisiting their catalog on Blu lately - maybe it'll make an appearance.

Ah okay. So no chance that Scream could get ahold of it. Bummer!
Hey, if anything, I was able to solve a 30 year old question that's been nagging me for a while.

If anyone's interested, I just ordered Halloween II and III from Deep Discount for $39.90 total. The only down side is that they're backordered, so there's no telling how long they'll take to ship. :-\ Still a great price, though.

all of these announcements so far have been pretty good and there are a number of titles i plan on buying but for serious, can i get a prince of darkness blu ray? im waiting for titles that scream must buy. like the fog. the burning. prince of darkness. halloween 6 ultimate edition with the producers cut ( i would even take a blu/dvd combo like they did with halloween 2). even if we dont get titles like that soon im still excited about plenty of what scream has announced but i want the knock my socks off titles.

I would love to see any of these made for TV movies remastered and released on Blu Ray, a few have DVD releases but many have never been released on anything other than broadcast or VHS.

Made For Tv Horror/ Sci Fi/Creature Movies

1) Salem's Lot 1979 (Must Have)

1) The Legend of Sleepy Hollow 1980 (Jeff Gldblum) VHS copies have sold for over $100 for years online.

2) The Aliens Are Coming 1980

3) Home For the Holidays 1972 (Sally Field)

4) Tag: The Assassination Game 1982

5) Night Drive or Night Terror 1979 (Valerie Harper)

6) Don't Go To Sleep 1982

7) Annihilator 1986

8) Dual 1971

9) Death Car on the Freeway 1979

11) The Demon Murder Case 1983

12) Revenge of the Stepford Wives 1980

13) She's dressed to kill 1979

14) Someone's watching me 1978

15) The Initiation of Sarah 1979

16) Force of Evil 1977

17) Trilogy of Terror 1975

18) The Legend of Lizzy Borden 1975

19) Death Cruise 1974

20) Satan's School for Girls 1973

21) The Devil's Daughter 1973

22) When Michael Calls 1972

There are many more worth considering but this was a big list already!

Other Films that need a blu ray release:

1) Tourist Trap 1979

2) Looker 1981

3) The Seduction 1982

4) Spellbinder 1988

5) FutureWorld 1976

6) To ALL A GoodNight 1982

7) New Years Evil

8) Burnt Offerings

Blu-ray.com has just added their review of "The Funhouse"! Here's the overview: "The Funhouse Blu-ray delivers great video and audio in this excellent Blu-ray release"
Really looking forward to this one, Terror Train and They Live.

If the Fog is announced I think it would be at the convention that Jamie Lee Curtis is attending.
It hasnt been shot down other than the "it hasnt been announced" reply - so it hasnt been shot down like Fright Night II (grrr!)
I think we will get the Incredible Melting Man - just a hunch (until its shot down) Without Warning is a long shot to me. MGM never even did an MOD of it when they started to release their genre titles (Melting Man, Gog, etc)
I think whatever else has only had a VHS release from the MGM library has a good shot at getting a Blu Ray and DVD release, but I can see something more mainstream-ish like Halloween 2 coming out. since its a business and making money is the # 1 priority in business, they will need to release some money making titles, bigger than The Town that Dreaded Sundown (although this could be a good seller)
Here's a hot one - anyone ever heard of Rana Legend of Shadow Lake ? Its a Bill Rebane movie, rats..

Cliff I was wondering - is there any realistic chance of you guys releasing Clownhouse? It's owned by MGM but obviously there's a lot of controversy surrounding the film and the actions of director Victor Salva. Would that put you off releasing it? If not, I was hoping you might include Salva's short, 'Something in the Basement', as an extra.
Blech. I can't say I "hate" WW, but I would jump for joy if it was LIFEFORCE or THE BURNING announced next week.

and +1 for THE INCREDIBLE MELTING MAN.

Another strong possibility I feel is The Horror Show. Would love to see Shout release the unrated cut of that.

At this point I get the impression Scream Factory might be saving the major titles for next fall, around the Halloween season. I imagine we might see the likes of The Fog and The Burning then.

I'd definately like HOUSE III - THE HORROR SHOW too, it's never even had a decent DVD release. PUMPKINHEAD would come in second place for me
