Really tempted to get Sleepaway Camp and Phantom of the Paradise, too.
Sleepaway Camp is one of my most anticipated titles for next year. I can't wait to see it in HD. It's not a great movie, but I love it all the same.

Im avoiding Phantom , its not my cup of tea, neither is Rocky Horror...I really hope they tap into more of the 50s and 60s movies for some blu ray love. That being said Im loving the January slate

Are you a fan of musicals in general, or the Phantom of the Opera mythos? If yes, get it. If not, get it (for completists sake) or avoid it at all costs.

That's great! Sounds like you have a cool wife.

Hope it's not too long before you're back and catching up on Scream's latest!

Sleepaway Camp is one of my favorites. I'd say its more of a comedy than a horror. Ricky with all those hilarious lines is classic.

Sleepaway Camp is definitely my number one release for 2014 (thus far at least).

You know what would be cool is the Watchers movies wound up on blu-ray . The Artisan DVD is as bad as Fright Night II...
Are these with Lionsgate ?

Lionsgate via StudioCanal would be my guess. Come to think of it, I wouldn't be all that surprised if Fright Night II is tucked away somewhere in StudioCanal land.

^ I remember catching Watchers on HBO or Cinemax not too long ago, and I think it had the Universal logo in front of it.

The Artisan DVD is long out of print, so it's possible they don't have the rights anymore. If I remember, they released the Waxwork and Prom Night III / IV double feature DVDs on the same day, and Watchers is the only one of those that is out of print. So I would assume that means they lost the rights, at least to one of the films.

Watchers IS @ Lionsgate via StudioCanal as guessed by zbinks, the film was an acquisition of Carolco, and Carolco (catalog now owned by StudioCanal) made a deal for the theatrical & TV distribution with Universal and the video distribution with I.V.E. (now absorbed by Lionsgate). This is for the US rights of course.

As a child of the 80's, I was a big fan of the two Corey's, and their horror resume was pretty damn impressive at the time. The Lost Boys, Silver Bullet, Gremlins, Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, Watchers, and The 'Burbs. Feldman even had a small role in Bordello of Blood back in the 90's. I would love to see a Watchers blu from Scream if they could manage to get the rights. Watchers and Fright Night 2 both seem to be two former Artisan releases that are now a rights mystery.

Have you actually seen it, just curious?

I love it, I also love Rocky Horror. Its nothing like Rocky though, and its net really even a musical in the sense that people sing for no real reason. They sing, but only when on-stage for the actual shows, performing rock songs for the audience, and the music is not as cartoonish. Its genuine music with serious lyrics that deeply interacts with the story, really. Phantom is by far my favorite DePalma film, right up there with Dressed to Kill.

I'd say you should at least try it out before deciding to buy it. I know several non-horror fans that love it, its very good imo.

speaking of Artisan, there are so many that I would KILL to see on blu-ray.

Paper House is definitely my number 1, even surpassing Fright Night II.
(currently streaming on FearNet!)

Damn, I could see Waxwork as a title Scream would do. I would definitely get that.

I'm so behind on picking up some of these Scream releases. Being jobless really blows.
