I hope Scream Factory somehow gets a jump on Sleepaway Camp II and Sleepaway Camp III for a Double Feature. A lot of the people can be contacted through the fan website.

The guy that did voice work for Inuyasha is in III, so is the asian chick from The Mist, Melanie Griffith's sister, and a bunch of others that went on to have a pretty nice career. Michael J. Pollard, Sandra Dorsey, Pamela Springsteen, etc.

And none are strangers to being interview on the film. The same can be said for many of the cast members in SC2, as well.

It'd be awesome if they held off the first a couple months, to get together the sequels then released them as a Trilogy Boxed Set? Doubt that happens though, but regardless I. WANT. THE. SEQUELS!

Speaking of Sleepaway Camp, I wonder what the original artwork that Scream commissions will look like? I hope we see something like The Burning or Prince of Darkness. Those two are, by a wide margin, my favorite new original covers.

I hope it is a more minimalist cover. I'd love to see something like a cabin, sitting next to a lake, with a forest and a full moon in the background. The lake would be reflecting the full moon and a few clouds. Then have the shadow of the killer, holding a huge knife, cast on the outside of the cabin. Then in the original font have Sleepaway Camp at the bottom.

Here's my question, what are the chances of the original Stepford Wives getting the Scream Factory treatment? It's practically begging for a Blu-Ray unless the DVD sales weren't any good.

Close to zero. It's a Paramount catalog title that would've fallen under the terms of the Warner Brothers distribution deal.

Crap. Then where's the WHV for that movie? I know about the 2004 film having one.

Now that I'm taking another look at it, I'm not so sure. The film's copyright belongs to Palomar Pictures, which I think would mean ABC/Disney. Maybe Paramount may have licensed the film for DVD release to coincide with their remake?

doesn't shout have a good relationship with Disney? Isn't that who they got The Nest from?

I'd love to see them get their hands on The Stepford Wives.

I think they got it from MGM, but I could be wrong. It says MGM on the blu-ray case.

I'm not sure if it's even possible, but how about a triple feature with Sleepaway Camp 2 & 3 and Cheerleader Camp? Those three movies all came out between '88 and '89 and were very similar in content and tone. It would make for a great "Camp" triple feature. I'm just saying.

I think most people would rather have sequels separated from unrelated films.

I think Cheerleader Camp would make the Collectors Edition cut though.

Wasnt there something I recall them getting (possibly a blu from the Shout line) that was through Disney?

EDIT:

Nevermind. I don't know what I'm talking about.

I'm probably completely wrong about this, but I had a sneaking suspicion that Scorpion might be pursuing Cheerleader Camp. Betsy Russell did an interview on their recent Tomboy blu-ray, and she covered EVERY movie in her filmography except Cheerleader Camp and Camp Fear. I don't think either film was even mentioned, except briefly in the Katarina intro.

Again, I have absolutely nothing concrete to base this theory off of, just wishful thinking. But the absence of any mention of Cheerleader Camp in the interview gave me a hunch that they might have been saving that portion of the interview for an upcoming release. Fingers crossed!

Yes. They got most of the Corman catalog from Buena Vista.

Head over to BlowItOutaHere or Family Video. With shipping factored in, prices would have been cheaper than ImportCDs anyway.

15% off orders of $25+ at BlowItOutaHere with coupon code SURPRISE (valid through 1/7).

that would also mean that chances are slim for LET'S SCARE JESSICA TO DEATH as well I'm assuming....

too bad because it's one of the scariest films of the early 70's (and that was a time when a lot of great creepy flicks were released....)

I think most, maybe all, of the Roger Corman's Cult Classics films were licensed from Roger Corman directly via his New Horizons production company.
