Not really. Evilspeak, yes though. I really hope they announce something soon, probably just wanted for some signatures on the dotted line Id guess.

I've never seen it before but I'm curious about it. What film is it most comparable to?

It's an early 80's slasher set on a college campus, but with a greater than usual amount of character development and less than usual amount of antagonist backstory.

^ Perfect description of Final Exam.

The killer, no spoilers, is really just "a guy who wakes up one day and decides to kill". It really does deliver on the creep factor though, reminding the viewer that anyone could set out to kill you if they really wanted to.

It has a slow build and the characters take a good bit of time to get setup. And you get to know them well enough that it feels a little uncomfortable when they start to get knocked off. For the most part it's well acted and well shot.

I am. I've never seen it, but, good or bad, I usually enjoy those 80's slashers.

I'm very excited for Final Exam. I think it will look great, since the Scorpion DVD looked great, and it's the same master.

YES! I watched a lot of slasher movies growing up - Final Exam wasn't one of them but I really enjoyed it when I blind bought the first DVD. Some people call it dull and pointless but I don't think it is. And, yeah, the DVD looked really good so this Blu-ray should be a real treat. Can't Wait

Speaking of newer 'indie' films for possible release, did anyone else see 'Absentia'? I actually really enjoyed it when I caught it on Netflix streaming a couple of months ago. It had a couple areas that were a little 'off', but overall I was impressed for an independent production. Its not often you see a film with Lovecraftian elements that actually makes some sort of sense, lol.

On the more current release front, I've cancelled my pre-order of 'Cat People'. Not because of all the transfer moaning, but because it was a blind purchase. I've read a couple more reviews on the film and the synopsis, and decided it was probably one of those films I'd see once and then never end up watching again.

I love Scream Factory, but their products can be kind of like an addiction, lol. I have to remind myself that I'm collecting movies to build a library of films that I will re-watch. I'm not just collecting Scream Factory movies for the sake of 'getting them all'. For me, it's senseless to own a movie I'll only watch once. $3 rental vs. $20 purchase + shelf space? Hmmm. If anyone else has that much room to store crap, I'm envious.

Okay, enough random thoughts for the day. (I too am eagerly awaiting artwork from Scream - but more for Dog Soldiers...) Happy Thursday!

Just received the terrorvision/the video dead double feature. The commentary on both movies are well worth a listen.

Agreed. This is what I have had to remind myself recently. I love the brand, and I want to support them, but I can't just toss $20 and a BR that I will watch once and then go on a shelf. Thankfully, the few blind buys I have made from them have all been a worthwhile addition to my collection.

I've been making my way through the Vincent Price set, and I'm surprised at how much I've been enjoying them. It amazes me it's taken me this long to see any Price films. I loved Masque of the Red Death, The Pit and the Pendulum, and House of Usher. I was a little underwhelmed with Witchfinder General, but still liked it. Perhaps tonight I'll do a Dr. Phibes/Haunted Palace double feature and finish the set.

While I'm glad Scream has been putting out so many slashers and 80's horror, I certainly hope they continue to release films like the ones in the Price set. In fact, I hope we're not too far off from a Vincent Price Collection, Vol. 2.

Add me to that list. While I have always been a huge fan of Price seeing these films look so beautiful is a thrill. The interviews in the bonus features are great too because you can see how much of a gentleman he really was. Please give us more Vincent Price Scream Factory!

Absentia has been on my watchlist for too long. I just recently noticed that the movie has been released on Blu-ray in Germany.

But yet another 1990s film was announced by Scream Factory, RAVENOUS. No offence to fans of this, but I have no interest. Still waiting to hear about more Price titles, the Count Yorga films, CURSE OF THE CRIMSON ALTAR, ect.
