Image has the rights to C.H.U.D.! And it sucks because they'll probably just sit on it. They have Elvira: Mistress of the Dark too, that's the one I want them to put out.

Its much more likely to be 'The Fog' or 'The Howling' - because they have a good bit of special features. 'Scanners' was kinda short on features if I remember correctly.
I don't doubt that "The Fog" and "The Howling" are coming (if either of them get announced tomorrow I'll be just as thrilled) but porting over something as simple as a commentary from a previous release such as "The Burning" is no different than what they did for "They Live". I don't think the older features that are being ported over have to be a massive amount especially since Scream Factory mentioned in the hint that new ones are being utilized anyways. The amount of features (excluding the trailer since it would seem Scream Factory would have had it on their release regardless based on past SF titles) on "The Burning" seems like a suitable amount to port over for the fans that appreciated the DVD release. In regards to "The Fog", I truly think that Scream Factory will be saving that announcement for the Horrorhound convention that Jamie Lee Curtis is appearing at along with a majority of "The Fog" cast members. I'll be there as well so I'll keep you guys posted but that opportunity seems almost too perfect to waste announcing it tomorrow. Like I said though, if either of your guesses proves correct, you can bet I'll be doing back flips

Is the first post still going to be updated when we get new announced release dates for Scream Factory releases?

I hope so... because while I do wander through the thread, I like the idea of being able to look at that first post and make sure I haven't missed seeing a release date for something.

I just noticed that the Funhouse (next week) and They Live (November) are in the "TBA" column on post #1 rather than having their known release dates.

I was thinking about it because I was about to put my Funhouse order in tonight.

I'd rather have "The Burning" announced now because as you stated the others will most likely be coming soon anyway and we can't be sure about "The Burning" until we get an announcement for it. So, yeah. I hope its "The Burning"!

Beats me. The King Kong Encounter did not open until 1986.

Universal did manage to purchase most of the character and story rights from Merian C. Cooper's estate shortly after the 1975 and 1976 lawsuits had been resolved. This would not have included any rights to the RKO films or the 1976 remake, but De Laurentiis Entertainment Group did need to seek Universal's approval in order to film the 1986 sequel. Given the timing of the ride's opening and the theatrical release of the sequel (both in 1986), allowing the use of their designs for the ride may have been a concession on De Laurentiis's part to Universal to get the ok to film the sequel.

That's the issue with the Fog - is it to be announced at the convention ?
Is the Burning "a big one" ?
I wonder if its the Incredible Melting Man-I think the MOD had a trailer or other releases overseas did.
Carrie - it had a Blu Ray release
Howling - seems very logical & makes sense
Phantasm ? Anchor Bay still has it...
Army of Darkness would be interesting but I heard there arent any more Universal titles coming..

"The Fog" being announced at Horrorhound was just my speculation but I feel like it's very possible. "The Burning", I feel is a big one especially when you're talking slasher films. "The Howling", again seems very likely at some point, I'm just not sure if tomorrow will be its announcement. When they said a "biggie" in their announcement, I'm thinking along the lines of "Halloween II", "Terror Train", "They Live" big and personally I think "The Burning" has the goods to certainly be welcomed in the same company as those other flicks. Time will tell soon enough.

I already own They Live (Italian Release) but I am going to buy this one too.
I can't wait to buy them all to be honest. Have Shout/Scream released anything else before this year?

Nope, Scream Factory just launched this year as a sub-division of Shout Factory, who have been around since 2003, that specializes in horror and cult films.

I find it strange that the MST3K DVDs cost way more than the recent Blu-Rays, MST3K only includes like 4 or 5 films per set and I doubt the remastering and printing is more than stuff that's coming out now.

I forgot about From Beyond
That would be welcome as well.
Another movie under the MGM library is a movie called From A Whisper To A Scream, which I wouldnt call a big one, but Id welcome that if it gets announced...

Yeah, when I hear "biggie", Halloween II and They Live both fit the bill. But Terror Train (since you mentioned it), The Burning, and even From Beyond don't count as "biggies". The Howling is a "biggie". The Fog is a "biggie". Scanners is a "biggie". It's debatable if Lifeforce or Pumpkinhead would even be considereded "biggies", but regardless--we'll find out in the next 9-10 hours.

Well I personally hope it is not From Beyond, same goes for Scanners and The Brood. I want all three, but they are already coming from Second Sight in the UK. I would rather see releases of other titles.

The Incredible Melting Man would be a good one, but chances are probably slim.
Even though The Fog and The Howling would be great, I am not too worried about those either as MGM themselves would get them out at some point.

I would rather have the under the radar stuff that MGM would maybe not have much interest in.

Well for those of us not in the UK , we here in the good ol USA would love to have those 3 movies. the first 5 announcements had under the radar stuff, now its time for a biggie, a big seller...
Pumpkinhead, I wonder...
Scanners, also maybe..
the key is...which titles had extras on the DVD...
Im sure its one of the titles we mentioned..and not some "this movie sat in MGMs vaults and just a VHS release because the movie isnt that good and appeals to a certain audience that consider it gold"

My guesses are either The Fog or From Beyond. I would think they'd wait until the con to announce it but maybe since they seemingly slipped with the hasn't been announced yet, it'll get announced early. Some folks from From Beyond will be at Flashback Weekend near the end of the month. So maybe they've planned to work with them for extras.

Well I am in the US myself and there is a thing called the internet that you could easily order these from.

I want those titles and if announced, so be it. I would rather get titles not being released by anyone else, but that is just me.
