That is great news if true I asked Scream Factory only a month ago about it and that was the response I got.

Amelia does, indeed, participate in the special features. There is a 23-minute interview with her, and she is also throughout the 72-minute documentary. She talks about how she has really embraced the convention circuit and was shocked to learn how many people liked her role in NOTD.

Cool, I just browsed through the list of Night of the Demons special features on the Shout Factory website and didn't see her name listed anywhere. I'm glad to hear that she did participate.

Here's what. I think about the two deals yielding four titles now that Hellhole has been announced.
-Arkoff (Abby, The Final Terror, Hellhole)
-William Peter Blatty (Ninth Configuration) -OR- Brian Yuzna (Society)

Isn't ABBY still with MGM as part of the large AIP library they hold rights to?

The question is , who did Shout license HELLHOLE from? If they got it from the Arkoff estate, then I'd say FINAL TERROR is almost a sure bet. What else could it be? THE EARTHLING is also a possibility for their regular (non-horror) line. I can't wrap my head around a Shout BD of The Final Terror. This would make my whole year

I am leaning towards no. They said the rights were difficult. Maybe, they have cleared up?

I always thought it was under a lawsuit from Warner Bros, about it being a rip-off of The Exorcist. Similar to the situation Universal had with Jaws and The Last Shark?
[Show spoiler]The Last Shark only recently came out, albeit a bootleg (RetroVision seems like they are bootleggers... they say they aren't though)

That would also explain why it was never released. And weren't the DVDs just bootlegs? That would make sense if the reason the rights are an issue is a lawsuit.

It would seem so, yes.

While I very highly anticipate "Nightbreed", I'm also very fearful of it myself. Watching the complete 'Cabal Cut' will be wonderful I'm sure as they are trying to bring it up to the best transfer possible.

What makes me fearful is the lack of inclusion (as of now) of the theatrical cut. Once the charm of the 'Cabal Cut' wears off weaving in and out of good quality theatrical parts and clearly lesser quality deleted scenes, I may want to just experience the theatrical cut simply for a completely consistent viewing experience.

The dvd of the theatrical cut is still available from Warner.

They have already confirmed that Warner denied their request to include it in the blu-ray of the Cabal cut.

I don't like the Cabal Cut. I prefer the Theatrical. So, I'll be making my own little combo pack with the SF blu until that gets released from Warner Bros.

The Cabal Cut just drains me. It takes a lot out of most viewers, I believe. Its VERY LONG. Plus, Isn't shout editing this version? So it's not the full cut, its a cut version of the Extended/Alternate version of the Theatrical Cut? That's really weird. Plus a lot of the film seems unfinished, and voices remain undubbed at times, and dubbed at others.

Frankly, I don't think Abby will ever see a legitimate home video release.

The Earthling should be part of MGM's library via Orion/Filmways/American International Pictures. It was filmed after Arkoff sold AIP to Filmways, but before he resigned from Filmways altogether.

Of all your movies, the one I really, really want is The Final Terror! I'm like Cine74 though, I really can't even imagine Scream acquiring this movie. Simply because I don't want to get my hopes up, and then have them announce a film that I have zero interest in, like what happened last summer at Comic-Con, with the Eve of Destruction announcement. If The Final Terror does come from Scream it will be my most sought after release on Blu, even ahead of Suspiria.

I would hope the Cabal Cut isn't just new footage for the sake of adding new footage. The extended version should add to the viewing experience as well as still move at a reasonable pace. Any of the new footage that is unnecessary or adds nothing of value should be cut. Scream Factory seems to be putting a lot of work into this release. I think their final version of the Cabal Cut will be better than the theatrical version.

Agreed. I have not seen The Cabal Cut but a lot of people just want more footage when they know so much extra exists but they forget the one most import thing is to make sure these scenes, extentions , alternate takes, etc. add to the movie content that actually progresses the story forward or adds nice additional details to characters that was missing before. I'm fine knowing that a film has 60 minutes of deleted footage but the extended version only includes 20 of it.
At the same time, my only concern for the Nightbreed bluray is the video quality of the extra footage and how it will clash , if at all.
