If you can get a hold of the short story, there's even more of that! :P
On a more serious note, I was really surprised by how good the short story was. It would have made a great fit for the anime director behind wicked city and Ninja scroll!

Lake Placid? Okay, I know it has its fans so no offense to anyone but seriously? Lake Placid of all films? Did it even sell well on DVD to warrant a Blu-Ray release from even Shout Factory?

Well obviously it did sell well enough or they wouldn't be releasing it !

If it did sell that well, I'm even more perplexed then. There are so many Horror films that need a Blu-Ray release, this isn't one of them.

I find this backlash hilarious, especially considering how three weeks ago, people were going apeshit with Lake Placid requests.

I never saw Lake Placid, but it may be the rare (only one so far) 'new' Scream release that I might actually be interested in. I'm at least glad we won't have any terrible Universal masters to worry about for a while.

Lake Placid is an awesome light hearted monster movie. I'm pleasantly surprised by the announcement. I'm also very happy with Ginger Snaps.

Dog Soldiers? Meh...Which is a shame cause I loved Neil Marshall's next movie, The Descent.

Some people only remember the subpar ones (Phantasm II & Cat People). I have seen Halloween 2&3, Prince of Darkness, They Live, and Psycho II get praise.

If you don't like the movie that's fine but there are lot's of us who do that are really excited for this release.

It's cool that you do and so many fans that like it as well, I'm not chastising others for liking the film. It's just that, really? I'm more excited for Ravenous in terms of Fox's own Horror films considering that one appeals more to me. I like that Shout is branching to the 90's work but this film isn't what I had in mind when I hoped they'd do that.

It was bound to get a blu-ray release sooner or later. Not only that--it's probably one of the most popular and recognizable horror films from the last twenty years that hasn't made the leap to BD (in any region).

They're not all bad (although They Live did get plenty of flack), but Universal were pretty damn dependable. I can't think of any other studio who consistently have had as many problematic transfers.

I thought Scream was one of the more popular films of that ilk, not Lake Placid. Unless the sequels had something to do with that.

Okay, let me make one thing clear; it's not the fact that Lake Placid is even getting a Blu-Ray release, period. Actually well duh, that was probably bound to happen. It's Shout Factory releasing the film that perplexes me. I mean come on, The Good Son is more deserving of the Scream Factory treatment than Lake Placid when you get down to it.

The Good Son isn't a horror film, it's a drama thriller.

I like Lake Placid and I don't usually like about these kind of films with giant animals killing people.
