I would take the Animated Series over any of them...

I would hate to be TS or Brodie... Have you ever walked around a mall for six hours? Their backs must be so sore.

When I was in Middle School and High School, my friends and I would do that every Saturday.

It is rare for anyone it seems these days...which is a tragedy. Even most older folks don't look back and if they do you hear stuff like "Oh that is so dated now".

That said, I do watch many new movies just to see how bad they will be (I have been patiently awaiting Endless Love for months...).

I like the dated stuff because it shows actual effort.

Horror movies now days get a bad rep. There are so many good ones, mostly indie (not shitty low budget indie, but real indie that is made well, shot well, sounds great, and is acted phenomenally) that just get written off because they aren't the new Carrie. (Which I also liked).

Stoker (personal best horror of 2013), Resolution, Berberian Sound Studio (brilliant homage to Suspiria and other Italian films), John Dies at the End, etc, etc, etc.

I'm going to see Nurse 3D, and I will probably love it, if only for the sheer badness the trailer exerts. It's great to look back and appreciate and enjoy classic films, but when you look ahead there's still hope, and a lot to get excited for. Just watch ABC's of Death, that film has 26 reasons to still believe that horror is alive and well.

Personally, I think horror is at its best when the horror is really an allegory for something else. That is why I think someone like Cronenberg's work is so great (also Canadian..hmmm) and I think that is why Ginger Snaps works on some deeper levels than the average werewolf film.
Horror is at its best when allegorical. Is there anything more frightening then a teenage girl going through puberty or periods?.... No there isn't. I could see how it would make a bunch male horror fans shy away from such a movie.

Our 2014 "Summer of Fear" release schedule is about to get even better with the following title reveal--one which we're sure will please so many of you that have requested it. The long-lost 1983 slasher film THE FINAL TERROR is coming to Blu-ray & DVD for the first time ever!

As some of you already know, this killer-in-the-woods entry stars an eclectic group of stars including Rachel Ward (The Thorn Birds, Night School), Daryl Hannah (Splash, Blade Runner), Adrian Zmed (Grease 2, Bachelor Party, TJ Hooker) and Joe Pantoliano (The Sopranos).

We're aiming for a July release. No details on extras to report at this time but the key art you see here - adapted from the original theatrical key art - is final (no pun intended).

Happy Monday!

Yeah, but unlike reality vs. metaphor, you don't have an overriding urge to just slap a werewolf, already.

Then they're being stupid about it. I mean, being scared of a Horror film with allegorical references to girls going through puberty themselves? Oh sure, because boys totally haven't gone through a period of their own.

As for The Final Terror, this I'm curious. I've heard plenty of obscure Horror films but I didn't know anything about this. Nor did I know about Andrew Davis directing it.

Is The Final Terror even actually good or is it just another shitty movie people only love become it came out in the 80s? I read a bunch of reviews and it sounds awful. With obvious exceptions, I've been really disappointed in their announcements lately.

If it is, then I really have to question their methods especially given Lake Placid.

Kinda saw it coming. Abby is my next guess. Or a title from another deal, maybe from a Yuzna deal. Problem though. It says it is the first time on DVD. It had an OOP release.

Nice try with Lawrence Fishbourne. You can get away with saying that for Godzilla: Final Wars. Not Lake Placid or The Final Terror since I never even heard of the latter.
