On this week's Killer POV podcast, they mentioned that sometime around May, the Scream Factory guys (Cliff and Jeff) will probably be returning to chat with them and talk about a bunch of announcements they have planned for that month. Sounds like that month might be a big deal.

I would love SF to get this one simply for the possibility of custom artwork.
Pumpkinhead belongs in the Scream Factory lineup as a collector's edition. I don't have a problems with Twilight Time, but I'd hate to miss out on something like Pumpkinhead or their release of The Blob because they sell out within hours.

While we're on topic, would love to see the Trancers films released by Scream Factory. I'll even settle for a cheapo Echo Bridge set while we wait.

Fullmoon has those Trancers films. I'd at least like to see the original Trancers movie get a solid Blu-ray release, whether it be from Scream Factory or Fullmoon.

That's really my only problem with TT, in the beginning they didn't have limits, and some people bought 10 copies or more to resell, they have since imposed limits that should slow down the sell outs a little bit, but I still expect something like the Blob to sell out quick.

I imagine good ol' Charlie Band will release the first three movies sometime next year, for a thirtieth anniversary of the first film.

This year, he's already working on Head of the Family and Tourist Trap. I have also heard mumblings of Doctor Mordrid.

Cecil also did other Shout Factory titles: Cyclone, Oblivion, Damnation Alley, and Timerider.

He went on to praise and promise a review for Phantasm II as well.

If TT does release Pumpkinhead, I'm going to be checking the internet daily for when it's up for preorder. I don't want to miss out on that one. I love that movie but not enough to pay double or triple the price from someone on Ebay.

So it seems Import CDs have raised the prices for new Scream Factory titles. (Darkman and the Double Feature coming up anyway.) This makes it much more expensive for to import which is a shame.

Will have to wait and get them from Amazon later rather than ordering them in advance.

I just like horror from the late 70s through the 80s best.
I think new horror gets an unfair bad rep by many of us who grew up in earlier decades. But then again, it's no different than when I go to places like the Classic Horror Film Board and see the so-called 'monster kids' (those who grew up watching Universal horror etc. on TV in the late 1950-1960s) rant against the graphical nature of most horror movies produced after their own childhood. Nostalgia probably plays a good part in our preferences.

Personally, though my favorite decade for horror is the 1970s, I quite enjoy new horror, and I think the development of the genre after 2000 has been very interesting - not at least when compared to the meagre 1990s, which IMO was one of the worst, if not THE worst, decade for horror (which is not to say there weren't any good movies at all).

I find the so-called torture porn rather fascinating because it is probably the most political infused trend since the 1970s. And ghost movies are my favorite sub-genre, so I have been very happy to see them return in big style the last few years, though the whole found-footage thing has gotten tiresome by now.
