Just returned from New York Comic-Con and after spending some quality time with the fine folks over at the Shout Factory booth, I walked away with my advance copy of "They Live" and some complimentary Scream Factory pins. That "buy" sticker is such a great added touch. I may dig into this tonight or this week at the latest.

House (1986) (William Katt, Kay Lenz) is another title I'd love to have on Blu. Anchor Bay released it on DVD about ten years ago and fairly recently, Image released it on DVD, but not on Blu-ray.

They stopped releasing catalog titles back in 2010. They weren't selling as well as they'd hoped, so they shifted their focus to new films.

This was especially devastating to me, because they announced that they had acquired Death Spa and were planning to release it. Then shortly after they announced that they were calling it quits.

They had also announced Bonnie's Kids around the same time, which eventually got released because fans had been e-mailing them. But nothing ever became of Death Spa, which is a vastly superior film than Bonnie's Kids. I believe that was their last catalog genre release, maybe Horror Hospital.

Okay.
As far was I was able to tell, and I'm in agreement with the 4[B] group of reviewers for UK-Optimum release of The Fog, it looks quite good and I saw no reason not to recommend it as a nice catalog title from Carpenter.

I just find it peculiar that now all of a sudden with the expected US release from Shout/Scream Factory, I'm hearing about this "upscale" rumor.
Here are some from frame comparisons from the German Blu-Ray.

In my opinion the UK Blu-Ray (which I own) is no better than this.

According to the UK disc profile from this link, the UK disc is the exact same as the DE release.

Apparently film elements have been found for the producer's cut of Halloween 6, owned by Miramax at the moment. Now someone needs to license it.

No way! Where did you hear about this? Fantastic news if this proves true. Now, if Echo Bridge would just return Scream Factory's phone calls then we could get moving on this along with "Prom Night" and "Curtains".
