My guesses for the four:
Phantasm
The Fly II
Frankenstein Unbound
The Legend of Hell House

I forgot about Legend of Hell House, I would love that one as well! I doubt it will be Frankenstein Unbound as it's hardly retro and not an exciting enough title. Fly II would be an interesting choice though.

Unbound has its audience, and I believe their meaning of retro is not current. I believe that exciting is dependent in taste. Frankly, I don't think that Lake Placid is an exciting title. Others do. It's all subjective.

Also, Unbound and Fly 2 came out a year apart.

Wishful thinking. I am at the point where I will believe it when I see it, though.

(** LONG SHOT ALERT **)

I'm thinking Sony on these. Who knows, maybe Candyman is the title Barker was talking about. Kinda a long shot, I guess. But they could have worked something out regarding extras.

And the extra surprising one could even be Fright Night II!
If they got deep into Sony's catalog, they may have been able to uncover that they owned the rights all along...

Thats what i'm hoping for- i think the film is there waiting for whoever traces the rights.
While i am not massivley into their contempary titles like someone said, they do no harm. Scream imo is clearly holding back the big titles for the lucrative build up to halloween, isn't there a big announcement planned for may? i think alot of us will be happy then.
btw way, with scream releasing "newer" films like "Lake Placid" i would love it if they did "Darkness Falls" its a film everyone seemed to loathe when it came out but its really grown on me over the years, was it Columbia/Tristar? can't remember, probably Lionsgate

I saw something interesting on Diabolik DVD's Facebook page. Death Spa is coming out on Blu Ray in May. I have no further details, except they are taking preorders now. Is this the release from Scream that will really surprise? Joking

Anyone have idea who might be behind this release?

Why would Shocker be a surprise? It's from Universal like the others you listed.

Think of synonyms for the word surprise.

Good thinking, but I don't think Jeff would be that clever.

Thumbs up

Susan Hart has, It Conquered the World, Teenage Frankenstein, Werewolf, Amazing Colossal Man, etc

As for the four retro titles - two possibilities for me I think they do mean older titles , not Shocker, not People Under the Stairs - is that really retro now
1)4 more Price films for a Vincent Price II set - Oblong Box, Scream and Scream Again, Twice Told Tales and Cry of the Banshee. I think SF would go after more contemporary classics
2)4 titles that are a good mix of eras
Without Warning -80s
Quatermass Experiment -50s
Legend of Hell House -70s
Curse of the Crimson Altar 60s

Im really excited about the possibility of maybe retiring a couple more DVDs !

I'm really hoping for a film that hasn't had a DVD release for the surprise release. If it's Shocker, it will be anti-climatic imo.

If that's true, that's a North American release.

I do think he can / has been very clever with hints.

That just seems stupid though. lol. and very cheesy if it turned out to be Shocker. But I'd welcome it with open arms.

Not to sound pessimistic, but I will play devil's advocate.

Maybe it's an unauthorized release. Wouldn't be the first one.

I want it now though, whatever it is. lol. I'm excited already.

If Jeff's not being clever with the wording:

Lord of Illusions
Pumpkinhead
Dollls
Without Warning

I think it would be a surprise mostly since Scream Factory responded on their Facebook page that SHOCKER was not in the cards for 2014.
