The 'Fear Takes Shape' doc was pretty definitive, so unless Scream were able to use an improved, DNR-free transfer, I don't see what the point would be.

I would love a second Price Collection, although I hope it doesn't include The Oblong Box or Scream and Scream Again. Not a fan of those two flicks, but more importantly Price is barely in them. I would go with Tales of Terror and Twice Told Tales as we desperately need more anthologies on Blu-ray. We obviously need to include the Dr. Phibes sequel Dr. Phibes Rises Again. Finally I would add Theatre of Blood and Madhouse, as they would be appealing to slasher fans and are just a whole lot of fun! If there's room for one or two more, and of these would be nice fillers: The Raven, Comedy of Terrors, or Cry of the Banshee. That would be a perfect Vol. II for me!

I really hope the surprise title isn't Shocker. That would be pretty lacklustre as it's not even one of Craven's best in my opinion.

I'm thinking it's either Escape from NY, Without Warning, Fright Night II, Pumpkinhead, or Candyman. Maybe throw Shock Treatment in there as well, although I hope it's not that as I hated Rocky Horror. One of the few films that was hard for me to finish, and I've seen a lot of crap!

If I may translate, so not to give the wrong impression about Shocker.

It would be a nice announcement, but not a nice Super Amazing Awesome Surprise title, like Jeff suggested for the big one.

In case Cliff is peeking in on the thread now and again, plenty of us want Shocker!
wink wink

I'd do a dance of joy if "Shocker" was announced, its a classic for me. Got a signed Mitch Pileggi 1-sheet too, says "no more mr nice guy" and "Contact" on it

Some of you guys perception of the 4 retro titles is a real hoot .. I mean 80s and 90s movies like Shocker called Retro ? (i mean this in a good fun natured way)

At least to me Retro is films like Die Monster Die, The Neanderthal Man... but I suppose to some they are ancient films

I'd guess three of the following from either Fox or MGM:

Escape From New York
Poltergeist II
The Howling II (despite what Cliff said)
Dolls
The Fly II
Leviathan
Prom Night 2
Candyman

With the "surprise" being one of the most-requested titles:
Fright Night II
Without Warning
Pumpkinhead

Still hoping for

The Burbs
Nightmares
Count Yorga
The Serpent and The Rainbow
Tales From the Crypt
The Sentinel
The Hitcher would be the best surprise to me

We know that the DVD rights are with Anchor Bay. Maybe the contract excluded BD?

Candyman is with Sony in the US. Poltergeist II seems kinda pointless, since it's already out on BD (same goes for EFNY, for that matter).

Also, I think Prom Night 2 is with Synapse...?

Doubling up on releases hasn't stopped them before. And has Synapse actually confirmed they have Prom Night 2? I know there was speculation

I like to use the term classic films .

The last time the term retro was thrown out by Scream, it was in reference to the Sleepaway Camp release. So my guess the "retro" film in question would be from mid-eighties or earlier.

The Burbs was actually just announced from another company. I think it was Twilight Time.

It was Arrow. I don't have a region free player, so I'm still crossing fingers for a North American release.

Synapse (or Don, rather) said that they could obtain the sequels, but only would if they original sold well. Then they would look into them.

It would be easy, I imagine they are all (except the remake) owned by eOne Entertainment at this point, the DVDs are licensed to Echo Bridge, and the blu-ray rights to the first (and Curtains, also eOne) are with Synapse.

Pumpkinhead would be an amazing announcement, but I wouldn't put it in the highly requested group.

Candyman is with Sony.

You do have a point.
Classic is a better word than retro anyway...the films from the classic era are far better IMHO
