my official guess:

The 4th surprise title will be Rawhead Rex.

It would be surprise because the rightsholder is MIA and nobody seems to know who owns it, although its speculated that it could be Sony or Lionsgate, right? What if it's neither and its just an independent producer who owns the video rights.

Clive says they are working on another of his films, this would be the best bet that wouldn't be tied down to a multi-title studio deal, most likely. Just a hunch.

I try not to judge films on what era they are from.

I still hope that SF can get a hold of The People Under the Stairs at some point, but with this recent tease, it's probably not included since it's from '91 but hey that is almost twenty-three years ago. And who knows what SF's defnition if retro is.

Do we know exactly how long we're going to be guessing before they put us out of our misery?

Assuming this is in any way an accurate indication of total sales, it would imply that Ninja III didn't actually do that bad. Deadly Blessing (for a CE) and the Chiller titles are really stinking it up though

To be honest, i'm actually rather disappointed at these new blu ray announcements. Arrow had a damn good 2013 and even 2012, but I have a feeling we've reached their limits. They simply don't want to release great films at the moment. None of those films makes me say 'oh man, day one!!!!'. Honestly, at this point, i'm more excited about Artificial Eye's future. They are a dark horse and are capable of producing some astounding blu rays when they take their time.

Scream Factory has it in the bag this year. Arrow need to sort themselves out after this yawn fest of 'news'.

Well I'll go with my all time favorite: Escape From New York!

It's retro, it would definitely surprise since SF said they couldnt get it, and I think that's happened with a few other titles. Not really expecting, but I'll remain ever hopeful!
Escape From New York is playing at the Ohio Science Fiction Marathon on March 15th in 2K DCP Can't wait to see it!!

Also Playing:
  • Akira (1988)
  • Metropolis (1927)
  • The Quiet Earth (1985)
  • Dredd (2012)
  • Delicatessen (1991)
  • Infra-Man (1975)
  • Repo Man (1984)
  • Earth vs. The Flying Saucers (1956)
  • The Hidden (1987)
  • The Running Man (1987)

Yeah, the Arrow release of TPUTS is actually quite good. It's not a HUGE upgrade, but it's definitely decent and the best the film has ever looked. The sound is good too for 2.0. Has strong dynamic range.
