Scream Factory has it in the bag this year. Arrow need to sort themselves out after this yawn fest of 'news'.
Really? I think The 'burbs, Phantom of the Paradise, Complete Dr. Phibes, Theater of Blood, Sisters, and Pit and the Pendulum are a great start to the year.

Sisters sounds like the most interesting one out of all of them to me, to be honest. I can't stand musicals so Phantom is out, and i'm not really into the whole Vincent Price horror stuff so the others are out too. Porky's? Arrow can and have done better.

What exactly is this Burbs film? Everybody keeps banging' on about anyway? I've never seen or heard of it until I came to these boards. I thought it was some sort of gross out comedy or something.

So in other words you don't have much taste. Almost all of these are much more exciting titles than Ginger Snaps in my opinion, which seems to be the only movie you praise.

But really...

The Price flicks are classics and for a reason.

Phantom is hardly a musical. It's one of De Palma's best films in my opinion. Sisters is also supposed to be a De Palma classic although I haven't seen it.

The Burbs is an 80s classic. Tom Hanks and Corey Feldman in their prime.

Porky's is another 80s classic, this time in the sex romp genre.

Exactly. No taste. Phantom of The Paradise alone is worth tons of excitement, Let alone the Vincent Price films.

I don't like great films? What, because I don't lick the arse of company that announces a bunch of mediocre catalogue titles?

To the fans of these films, good for you. And I genuinely mean that. But to people like myself, hang in there. I do believe that the truly great films/television shows will come out in the next 2 years.

That's just it, These films are not mediocre.
But I guess to a person like you Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Ginger Snaps would be more entertaining than Vincent Price Horror films...

Of the De Palma films I have seen, Sisters is my second favorite, behind Phantom. Hoping Criterion releases it on BD this year.

In Phantom, the songs have a context. It is about the music industry.

If you're not bothered fine, but why come on here and shit on some classics without even seeing them? How you can constantly wax lyrical about Ginger Snaps and dismiss a popular favourite The 'Burbs is truly beyond on me.

I'm convinced at this point you're trying to be irritating on purpose.

Huh? They have nothing good coming this year, but I think they will release good things this year. What logic is that?

Let me say, this raving lunatic that comes in here in no way reflects Ginger Snaps...
Don't hate on the Snaps!!

That's your opinion and you are certainly welcome to it, my friend. I didt mean to completely dismiss the Price films. I'm sure some are decent and they certainly have their place in history. However, Ginger Snaps is NOT the only films I have praise for. I'm just not a lemming who pops a squat at the mention of random releases.

Had Arrow announced John Dahl's The Last Seduction, Michael Lehmann's Heathers, Bill Duke's Deep Cover Gregg Araki's Doom Generation, Nicholas Winding Refn's Bleeder & Pusher Trilogy Allan Moyle's Pump Up The Volume, John Sayles Lone Star & Pecker, Paul Verhoeven's Soldier Of Orange and The Fourth Man, etc.

All these have not been release on blu ray, not to mention countless of classics prior to these ones too. I'm just saying...there are more deserving films that need the blu ray treatment than Porky's

Arrow and Scream Factory are both CULT film distributors.

And regarding Porky's, it's arguably the most iconic 80s comedy. When most people think of the 80s, it is the movie that comes to mind instantly.

Tell me where I dismissed The Burbs?? I admitted to haven't seen it. I'm just saying, their announcement was disappointing. I do not mean to be irritating, but I am an honest bloke. There are better cult films that could do with a good release.
