So, anyone believe the theory that the real killer in Sleepaway Camp is
[Show spoiler]Ricky, who gets angry when Angela is made fun of or pranked
but that
[Show spoiler]Angela only killed the guy at the end and everyone assumed it was her who killed everyone?
.

[Show spoiler]It makes some sense, considering the kill with the camping kids was farther away than Angela could have been in the time that everything in the climax was going down. And her insane aunt did raise 2 kids... So it's not impossible that she screwed Ricky up too... There's also a larger theory that there were more than one/two killers.

Lots of reading into this movie on the part of some hardcore fans. I may be wrong, but I don't think there was a greater vision in mind for this movie, other than the obvious subtext, which is surprisingly thought-provoking for a slasher movie.
My personally opinion, is that Sleepaway Camp is one of the few stylish and somewhat, dare I say "classy" Slasher movies of the 80s.

That scene surely gave me nightmares as a kid. I noticed a goof on that ending scene later on
[Show spoiler]the close-ups reveal that she (he) had a dress or shirt on whereas the shots from a distance show that he (she) is totally naked

I love the movie, but wouldn't ever call it classy or even stylish. The police officer has his mustache replaced by a shiny plastic fake mustache during the film for christ's sake!

I wouldn't call it classy either, but I get what you're saying. It certainly stands out in the genre.

Shame about the "no Universal in 2014" thing. That means no The Guardian or Death Becomes Her or The People Under the Stairs for quite a while now. Oh well.
****, no Brotherhood of the Wolf then.

"Classy" slasher? That's a bit of an oxymoron, don't you think?

The,
[Show spoiler]mostly taboo, sexual overtones and undertones
, of the film, certainly set it apart from most other slashers, but not in a way I would call "stylish" or "classy."

Its far from classy, and 2 & 3 are even further less classy - some of the death scenes to me were in poor taste. Part one does have something going for it though

I dared to say it, and I dare to stand by my statement

For a slasher, it ain't as "bad" as Splatter U lol.

Just for the record, if anyone was considering importing the UK Dolls, the 'top menu' trick doesn't work. Only another 3 weeks until The Stuff though, and as Arrow have had several 'top menu' releases as of late, it's a definite possibility.

Director track only. No trailer or reversible logo-free cover either.

The last time I spoke with Hough he told me there wasn't anything really left out of the film to add. I brought up that there was a lobby card of what appears to be Revill in a sauna, a scene from the novel, but he said it wasn't much. He never went on to explain!?!?!

I don"t think it will be. I'm sure someone will aquire it soon enough.

Personally, I was not a fan of Dolls. Maybe I should revisit it. Something I would do if Scream Factory released it.

Well, it wouldn't be anyone other than Scream. In any case, they can't release everything in the MGM, Fox, or Universal catalogs.

Twilight Time is also a possibility, although much less likely.
I think Scream Factory would/should be interested in getting ahold of it, considering the seemingly huge fan-demand for it.

Scott, are you still in contact with him? You might want to send a PM to Cliff and see if Hough would be interested in participating in the extras.
