The way they're bigging it up, I can only see it being one of Phantasm, Dawn of the Dead, Fright Night 2, Hell Night, Halloween 6 (Producer's Cut) or Pumpkinhead. The anticipation suggests it will be something very big, and unfortunately I don't know if something like Without Warning would fit the bill, or indeed any other MGM title beyond Pumpkinhead.

I recently rewatched my old DVD of Pumpkinhead and still to this day don't see what all the fuss is over that movie. It's pretty gore less, has bad acting and really the only reason to watch it is the little seen awesome looking creature itself. I would much, much, much rather SF be getting Dolls. That movie is one of my all time 80's favorites! But...to each their own. Another one I've wondered who has the rights to is The Unnamable. It's an HP Lovecraft adaptation from the 1980's and has a cool creature in a haunted house that screams all the time.

Well let's be honest, a good portion of the Scream library consists of films that boast horrible acting. So Pumpkinhead would be a perfect fit.

The only downside to all of this to keep in mind: We will not be announcing a title in April then but will have plenty more to address in the Summer."

Last night on FB everyone was throwing out titles and one by one SF was saying No, No, No....I guessed "House of the Long Shadows" and they skipped over it and went straight to the next one in line and said "no" so either they didn't see my post or they skipped it on purpose as to avoid giving away a secret

These days that Scream don't seem to comment on a lot of MGM suggestions, either because they're coming or are strong possibilities for future acquisitions. Hopefully this second deal includes the lieks of House of the Long Shadows, Scarecrows, Dolls, Pumpkinhead, Without Warning, Sometimes They Come Back, The Dark Half, The Believers, The First Power, etc.

Just because they don't say "yes" or "no" certainly doesn't mean anything.

As much as I want Without Warning, it doesnt seem to fit the bill of the Summer of Fear titles, but then again they did announce Legend of Hell House which is the oldest film of the summer releases. Still id guess Pumpkinhead.
I think if they made a deal with the Halloween 4-6 and H20 we might see announcements for them later
Like April or May

My best guesses would be Lionsgate via Trimark/Vidmark or Image via Lakeshore Entertainment. I'm leaning towards Lionsgate.

Didn't they say there would be no announcements in April if they announce this one now?

But KillerPOV says they'll be guests on the podcast in May with a bunch of announcents!! so we have that to look forward to.
I have faith that in April they will announce something... a surprise announcement. They make deals all the time..might not be early April.. things change all the time. The podcast will be a big May day though. That could be the day of the pre 1980s titles that a lot of us want

It's from one of their podcasts weeks ago.
But they've had cliff and jeff on multiple times before, and they usually come bearing announcements.

This was my post from around the time, as validation :

EDIT: (since my post ^ was on Feb. 8th, I guess it would be their podcast from the week before)
Here's their site (part of the GeekNation line-up).

I'll say. I've made requests in the past, and never gotten a response one way or another.

Yes but this was live and whoever was answering for SF was shooting down titles in real time, skipped over mine and kept on shooting down titles. Like I said maybe the SF person didn't see it or maybe they did and choose to skip it, only time will tell.

I think it's more what redrunner was saying, where they were ignoring any of the titles that they may have in the pipeline. Since Jeff said they "had a difficult time keeping the lid on this title", you can only assume it's quite the heavy.

Since Clive Barker would of spilled the beans on Candyman, and Fright Night 2 appears to be never happening, it has to be Pumpkinhead

...unless it's Phantasm or Dawn of the Dead, though you think Anchor Bay would of thrown as much money as possible at them to re-license

I really hope it's not Pumpkinhead. I'll buy it, but it isn't a "heavy" film for me. It's just another release for me. I'm hoping it's Without Warning, but I see no signs pointing in that direction.
