Good guesses, wouldn't be surprised if those were correct. I think randomly sandwiching bigger titles in with the never before on DVD titles has been Scream Factory's agenda since the beginning. I wouldn't necessarily consider the "Phibes" films any bigger or important to horror fans than "Halloween II" and "III" were. True, they star one of the greatest horror actors of all time and have an incredible style to them but I think Scream Factory enjoys surprising the fans with announcements we wouldn't expect. That said, I feel like the likelihood of seeing them announced tomorrow is slim and they were just a random guess from me .Your guesses seem way more likely, but the chance of hearing them announced certainly would seem so left field either. Scream Factory has made us continuously surprised week after week since the beginning. I know tomorrow is going to be no different

Some of the other possibilities are:

Whoever Slew Auntie Roo?
The Images
Scream and Scream Again
Theater of Blood
Dr.Phibes
Murders in the Rue Morgue...

Edit : Lots of ppl thinks that one of them will be Burnt Offerings.Good call.Love Reed.
I would be all over any Vincent Price movie and/ or Burnt Offerings!

Just a wild guess, but it might happen:

Okay so Scream Factory has already made deals with MGM and Universal...

Sleepaway Camp is now owned by Universal.
Sleepaway Camp 2/3 are now owned by MGM.

Maybe that's the box set. Cliff never said "complete" box set and these are the 3 people really only care about anyway (although they ALL are terrible and that's what makes them good even Return and IV).

Also, Sleepaway Camp IV was put out by Retroslashers. They decided to put it on dvd on their own because THEY COULDN'T FIND A DISTRIBUTOR!! That could also mean part IV could make it into a box set too. They'd all look great on blu-ray!

Maybe they could get Return to Sleepaway Camp from Magnet or Magnolia, because, get this, IT ISN'T LISTED ON ANCHOR BAY'S SITE CURRENTLY! Its far fetched, but not really...

And I just turned my tv on and Sleepaway Camp 3 was on chiller! Its like the stars are in alignment!

The titles, being from the 1970s and never been released on BD, does not narrow it down with how big the MGM catalogue is. Like finding a needle in a haystack!
It will be interesting to see what they are in the morning though.

Default Big Title?

Would the movie Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things be a big title? I have always had mad love for this film. Actually good comedy and fun zombie film. Early Bob Clark is always a good thing.

I just watched Sleepaway Camp 2,3, and Return to Sleepaway camp last night and today. Thought 2 & 3 were decent, didn't really care for Return but what about IV? Isn't that just like deleted clips with a few scenes tacked on or something? I love the original Sleepaway Camp though and think it is in a completely different league than any of its successors.

I was really basing my comment on the MGM titles, since the Universal titles were anounced a bit differently. "Too big," might not have been the right wording, but given the MGM titles announced thus far, I do think it's a bit early, given that the Phibes films were released to DVD in 2001 and have been readily available, in one fashion or another, ever since. From Beyond was announced as a biggie, but that's been OOP for a while now and was only first released on DVD in 2007. The other films had never been released to DVD by MGM before.

I think (hope) Phibes is in the mix, but I think it's going to be a while before we start seeing the Vincent Price movies getting announced, not while there are plenty of OOP titles out there. I have a feeling about a Price boxset, and the Phibes films would likely be a big selling point.

Well, the Anchor Bay dvd of "Sleepaway Camp IV the lost film" was included with the Sleepaway Camp survival Kit box set. That was just a couple behind the scenes clips. The RetroSlashers dvd was a new cut that spliced all the original scenes made during filming and production of Sleepaway Camp IV: the survIVor, with a good amount of flashbacks and scenes to add to the runtime. Its not horrible, it gets the story across as best as it can I guess.

I believe VCI has the rights.

No, like 6 minutes of new footage then flashbacks to all the previous sequels with lame narration.

Burnt Offerings isnt dull but is not very gory either, but so what ? Neither is The Town that Dreaded Sundown. Burnt Offerings is a far better film
Who needs gore for horror..it is creepy with Oliver Reed and Karen Black - cant go wrong there !

I'd say you're very wrong, as I found Burnt Offerings very annoying and boring without the commentary turned on. Plus its PG!

Too each their own, but I can certainly see why some people would not like it. I actually love the movie even if I still don't quite get the ending...

I would love for one of them to be SQUIRM. Ive always loved that movie and I just saw it on the big screen last weekend here in Chicago. The director Jeff Lieberman was there and I got him to sign my original Squirm poster.

Why so stuck on the PG rating? It's not like a film, especially from the 70's, has to be totally ineffective or junk because it's not rated R. If you just find it boring, that's cool. It's just the rating thing has me scratching my head. Here's a few not rated R.

Jaws - PG
The Legend of Hell House - PG
The Haunting (1963) - Rated G

Finally, got around to watching the Scream Factory Bluray for Halloween II last night. I just have to post here to heap praise on this disc.

The transfer is amazing and blows the previous Universal release out of the water. The snowy damage in the image that was prevalent in the Universal disc is gone and it still has a very filmic presentation. Color timing is also great and brings out a lot out of some of the dark scenes as well as some of the Argento/Bava homage style lighting. A really fanatic job from Shout Factory. Thanks for doing this release right!

I'd buy that too. That's awesome ya got to meet Jeff Lieberman. I really really would love to see his 'Just Before Dawn' come to Blu-Ray, uncut.
