I wonder if Scream would ever consider doing a post on Facebook noting the companies they can't currently licence from and a list of major horror titles belonging to these respective companies at the present time. You'd like to think it would stop people asking for the likes of The Keep over and over.

Or not.

How about The Deadly Spawn. Synapse offered to do a remaster for the producer but he done his own sh*t version and released it twice with Elite. Both versions were rubbish according to reviews. He has roamed these boards and slagged off those that criticised its release.

Doubtful.

Let me just say though. I love how just yesterday people got a brand new to home media title announcement that everyone wanted, and they said there would not be an April announcement. People are already going through title withdrawl.

Also, I just ordered the first 4 Movie Action Marathon set, so I feel I should ask this (knowing how much traffic the DVD thread gets). Must I see the first Exterminator to understand the second? Or is the brief synopsis of "Vietnam vet dishing out vigilante justice" enough info to go off of?

You don't need anything going into Exterminator 2. In fact, since it's so different from the first tonally(and in other ways), I would argue seeing the original beforehand would be detrimental.

Thanks Cannon. I think that's why I liked TCM2 so much. I still haven't seen the original (I am waiting for a hot August night to watch it). This reminds me, I still have to finish the third film.

I felt the same way about announcements after The Final Terror was announced. It's like I can live a normal life now . Everything after is icing on the cake.

Still looking forward to what the 2nd half of the year holds. Happy Birthday, BTW!

I think October will hold the two Barker titles and Vincent Price. I think September will have Pumpkinhead, unless (of course) there is also a Miramax deal at play.

Huh. Watching Deadfall right now. I thought Nic Cage would be the best part. I had absolutely no idea Angus Scrimm was in this piece of crap! The best part is a silver sphere on his character's table.

Even with a list, it wount stop people from requesting the same titles over and over again ad nauseum. How many times someone requested the Lakshores titles that image controls? I am sure they will get another request for THE STUFF or HOUSE again this week. Or THE KEEP. And they still get request for titles I ALREADY released, like DEATHSHIP, HUMONGOUS, HOUSE ON SORORITY ROW etc.

Someones one wonders if these people just request these titles to annoy Jeff at Scream, or just want to sound relevant on that facebook page.

Without Warning is nothing more than a little curio movie. I doubt that many people outside of hardcore horror community have even heard of it. It's beyond ridiculous to compare WW with Phantasm or some other high caliber title.

Now you know why my poll can be so inaccurate at times, is because of those requests that other companies like you have released, I wouldn't ask scream to do Death Ship or even Day of the Animals, because you did them fantastically, anyway yea, sometimes requesters can be stupid, but the ones that aren't usually do have some very unique titles to request, like one on Facebook requested Habit (1995), anyway I have three categories for most requesters, interesting, repeat, and annoying.

I never compared the two. I just said that Without Warning was highly requested. Can you deny this?

Completely disagree which seems like how the comment was intended to be.
Its a major title that has been highly requested by fans and those who have been curious enough to want it. It is high caliber in a different way.
And you can not deny that this requested quite a bit

And Im still celebrating it

I am one of those folks who is a knowledgable film fan, but largely ignorant about who holds the rights to the films and what that means for both the potential for and quality of a blu release. Movies like The Stuff are films I love to see folks ask for, but, while some of you take Scream's "no" for granted, I don't know what it means. Are there other companies likely to release it or is it with a studio that buries their genre films? I appreciate threads like this because they are educational, but I'll never have the time or inclination to keep track of where all the films belong/are like my to be released.

Off topic: Who has Mosquito (1994)? That is a great, campy monster movie with a bit of a throwback vibe to the b-movies of yesteryear. I would welcome a nice blu of that.

Often enough it seems, there will be a number of complaints based on screen shots, by people who don't own the Blu-ray to really see how it looks. IMO, any time grain is involved, a screen cap just won't do the Blu-ray justice. My rule of thumb is basically, if I see some caps and I say hey, that looks good...then I'm sold cause I know the BD will look even better.

What about Ninja III?

I didn't mention it cause neither the post I was quoting, nor yours, mentioned it. Unfortunately I haven't seen the Blu-ray yet. But from what I saw in the review here, it looks pretty good. I've only ever seen the movie once, on VHS. So it easily looks like a huge improvement to me.

I own Prince of Darkness and it's pretty clear to me what is wrong with it as it is throughout the entire film, the problems are clearly there even in motion. It is the best I have seen it look though. There are a couple of other titles I have some problems with, for example Joshua Tree really bad compression on that one. The extras are mostly always good.
