Rory Calhoun was also on Hell Comes To Frogtown. Haha
I agree that the Arrow BD artwork is cooler than Scream Factory's., But then again... I always flip it over to the original poster artwork anyway.

The Arrow artwork is fantastic. I'm not usually a fan of the new artwork, but I like that one.

Shame the import doesn't have the English dub on it like my DVD has, not that I would expect it since it is a French release of a French film haha. I don't mind subtitles but sometimes it's nice to have an English option when I'm doing other things than fully concentrating on a film. Especially considering the dub isn't that bad, Reno and Cassel both did their own voices for it.

Check out the new key art for our upcoming Collector's Edition of the cannibalistic chainsaw-wielding slasher MOTEL HELL! This awesome interpretation comes to us from veteran Scream Factory artist Nathan Thomas Milliner (Day of the Dead, Sleepaway Camp, The Burning, etc.)
The blu-ray release is planned for August 12th and we'll have full details on extras to report to you in early Summer. Pre-order links on our site at http://www.shoutfactory.com/screamfactory should appear in May in which a limited edition 18" x 24" poster of the art you see here will be available exclusively through us with purchase of the combo.
And yes, as always, the reverse wrap art will showcase the original theatrical poster art, in this case it's the U.S. iconic "heads in the garden screaming" one with Ida and Vincent standing behind them.

I think that Motel Hell cover is one of the best yet; up there with The Howling.

One dodgy looking film that Motel Hell. I won't be checking that out anytime soon. Any more word on....Dog Soldiers? That's a good film too.

It's been years since I've watched Them but I remember being underwhelmed by it after all the hype. It's basically a horror film that relies purely on decent sound design, and that's it.

I really enjoyed both films and think both did a nice job of making you feel unsafe in your own home.

Here's a little info about both, as far as what they're supposed to be based on, for those interested.

According to The Strangers IMDB page:

According to director Bryan Bertino the film is partially based on an incident he experienced as a child. One evening, a stranger came to his door, asked for someone who wasn't there, and left. Later, Bertino found out that other homes in his neighborhood had been broken into that night.

Bryan Bertino said the film was inspired by the infamous Charles Manson murders.

On the IMDB page for Ils it says:

The "true story" in which the film was based upon involved an Austrian couple that was murdered by three teenagers in their vacation home in Romania.

I prefer The Strangers but have seen Ils.

The Strangers is not based on anything, except possibly Ils.
I guess you could call it a rip-off, but a very scary one!

You see, I didn't like The Howling too much. The original poster is so iconic that Nathan's piece didn't do anything for me. I love this one though, giving off the film's sleazy atmosphere.

I like the Arrow cover also. But I really hate the logos and that rainbow of colors they put on all there covers. What's the story on that band of rainbow colors anyway?

I might be wrong, but I think it's a reference to the SMPTE color bars test pattern.

I really like the cover for Motel Hell but I already have the Arrow Version so no need to double dip.

Thanks to everybody who provided feedback on The Legend of Hell House.

It sounds like it will make it into this year's Halloween roundup.

I heard talk of a sequel to The Strangers somewhere.
